I don't get some of the crowd comments....I thought the crowd was great. I can't remember a game where the crowd would get into it, the other team would run 2/3+ of the shot clock and then make a sword in the heart shot. They just drained energy from the crowd time and time again. I give credit to those in attendance for keeping the faith. I was sure doubtful at times, not that I'll ever leave early.

I forgot about that part. In addition to our struggles, Alabama probably had 3-5 plays after defensive stands on our part that ended with a shot falling, all while stretching their lead. It was pretty hard to stay loud.

Well, I hope to be one of those old people in the crowd! I plan to still be a ticket holder in 2030 and I will be 60 years old in 2030. Is that old? :)

I felt like I was in a Catholic church I was standing and sitting so much the second half.

Synopsis of how my second half went:

10:00 left in the game ... Stand and try to lift up the boys, cuz we're getting an our butts handed to us. Sit down because Alabama doesn't know they are supposed to lose.

8:00 left in the game ... Stand up and cheer for the boys anyway. Sit down because Alabama is unphased by how loud I am yelling.

7:00 left in the game ... Stand up and try and to help get some momentum! Sit down because Alabama didn't get the memo.

6:00 left in the game ... Stand up and get a defensive stop at least! Sit down because Alabama just made a three and sucked the life juice right out of me. ARG ARG ARG

5:00 left in the game ... Stand up because that's what you do to get your team going! Sit down because Alabama ain't havin' none of it! SCREW THAT!!! CHEER ANGRY!!!

4:00 left in the game ... Stand up because this is Koch! Wait, what was that?! FVV and Baker gettin' it done?!?! STAY STANDING!!! YELL!

2:00 left in the game ... Kelly!! YESSSS!!!! STAND STAND STAND!!! YELL YELL YELL!!!

1:00 left in the game ... Kelly ties!?!! YESSSS!!!! Hug the dude behind me that I have never met before! HOLLAR HOLLAR HOLLAR!!!

0:12 left in the game ... Darius!!!!!!! BOO THE REFS FOR NOT CALLING THE MUGGING! Check my pace maker batteries! Oh I don't have a pace maker!

0:01.2 left in the game ... CHEER THE REFS for not calling it when we mug Bama's guard! He deserved it anyway!! YELL YELL YELL!!! SCREAM SCREAM!!

I'm not sure yet. But if so, the rockstar grannies and John Cougar taught us that life goes on and the thrill of staying up past midnight to watch the shockers never gets old.

1) The crowd is at the mercy of the players most of the time. If the players aren't playing good basketball it's hard to get all worked up in a frenzy. The Shockers didn't play good basketball until 5 minutes left in the game. Regardless of that, I felt the crowd, at least on TV, sounded great the whole time given the circumstances. When we went on the run, the crowd was wild and raucous and ESPN did a good job of crowd scans with the students going nuts. Did the crowd bring their A+ game? More like an A- or a B+. But the boys didn't bring their A game either, I'd give them about a B- on their performance, and I might be being generous.

2) If you're complaining about the age of the fans in attendence at Wichita State games, I'd like to shake your hand. You must be new to Shocker nation, I'd like to welcome you to the fold. This isn't anything new. They also have all the money, all the time, and have been fans for life. I'd also like to shake their hands, and thank them for their dedication and donations to make this program what it is. I hope one day, I'm lucky enough to be that old, live a fulfilling life, and donate my hard earned money to continue this program into the future.

3) I've posted before that Dickie V is one of if not my favorite announcers. I always get the funny looks, the remarks that how can I stand his buffoonery? Well, because it's bigger than basketball with Dickie V. It's about people, it's about connections with others, it's about bringing joy and happiness to everyone through basketball. He is an extremely philanthropic individual, and in the best way, not just his money, but his time. He dedicates so much of his life to empowering those who are helpless. The people who have been crippled by cancer, the families crippled by loss and pain, he empowers those families and victims of cancer with what he does. He raises so much awareness and money for cancer research, and recently he's specifically raised money for pediatric cancer. He is truly one of the greatest men that I know of and if I weren't down and out with the flu for the past week I would have made the trek to the RSC to buy a book and have him sign it and shake his hand. I hope he comes back and I get another opportunity to meet him and tell him thank you for everything he has done, he truly makes a difference.
