First true road game for the 8 newbies. We need to avoid foul trouble so we don't have to rely on the bench too much. Ria'n and Shaq should have a pretty good idea what they are in for but they haven't had to perform in front of a large hostile crowd. This will be a totally new experience for the other 6 newbies. Thankfully, 3G has been a master of preparing his guys to be Road Warriors.

I have the same feeling about this game that I did about St. Louis. A bit nervous, but expecting us to pull out the win. This one will be more challenging since we don't have a CLE in the lineup. Maybe one will will step forward.

Hard fought W. That's as far as I will go..

Can't help but think Ron was a big help in preparing for SoW.

Judge Marshall : Did you say Utes?

            Vinny: Yeah, two Utes.

            Marshall: What is a Ute?

It's gonna take more than two Utes to knock us off. Their size, the altitude, the Super Bowl atmosphere all bother me a bit in this one. If we take care of business from the FT line (which we really haven't done yet) I think we take it in a close one. Fred and Ron close it out going 10 for 10 from the charity stripe down the stretch.

Shocks 71, Two (loss) Utes 66

3 Balls fly a bit further it altitude. Legs get a bit more tired at altitude. Dehydration happens easier at altitude. Getting sick happens easier in a dry climate. Lots of newbies for the Shocks for the first time away from home and in front of a sold out arena....

              Whew...WILL be a terrific game....but I see a potential loss here fella's.

I am looking forward to a hard-fought victory followed by cheering on the Utes thereafter. I really, really like Coach Krystowiak. He has rebuilt their program beautifully and I wish them nothing but the best except for 1 game each of the next two seasons.

As far as I can tell from Utah's horrible board layout, the entirety of their discussion of this game seems to be:

                    A. The Koch brothers donate to WSU
                    B. What is WU
                    C. Where to buy flasks to bring to the games

There was a brief attempt to make note of Sagarin numbers and statsheet numbers, but that drew substantially less discussion than excitement over flask purchasing.

The Koch brothers are evil so we are to be hated for taking their money, I presume? The U.S. always clamors for more jobs, but when you have a guy provide tons of them, we still tear him down anyway. I think what the U.S. wants is more jobs, but they want whomever is providing the jobs to also be poor and have no opinions...like a nice, poor, benevolent robot. That would be great.

WU is wheat. What's a Ute? Isn't that racist? I call for a new name for the Ute's because their name is offensive, as it mentions an Indian at all.

Lucky for me, I can have all the mixed drinks I want as I watch the game from the comfort of my home. I'd hate to pay money to watch my team get beat like they are about to do. It might be nice to have a flask on you at the arena to help drink away the sorrows.

                      Wichita State - 76
Utah Capitols? Americans? Senators? ...wait, Sporting Utah (there it is) - 59

Their game v SDSt followed the WSU/Mem game on the ESPN marathon. It was an ugly game and I couldn't tell whether it was bad offense or great defense. Their AC player, Wright, had an off game and they just didn't look good. I think WSU will hold them under 60 but them Utes will Ugly up the game....

Utah is putting on a show for the game and TV. They're striping up the seating sections. You know, it's pretty simple here, all TC has to do is shut down their best player (Delon Wright) and we got this. They have 11 players who average 10 or more minutes per game, so they're a little deeper than us.

If we lose, I blame it on the altitude.

I was feeling a little iffy on this game until today's news broke on hometown Shocker CF. Shocks are going to ride those positive vibes to a 68-59 vICTory!

That was a very fun game to watch over and over again while relishing every moment of it.. Their fans came expecting a win and so many made an early mad dash for the exits

as we rained on their parade.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
