  • WSU versus Utah Predictions and Pregame Discussions

Here's the deal. We are heading to Salt Lake City baybay and that's no Jazz!!! Delon Wright is a solid player and they have some serious height at

a steep altitude, unfriendly place to play. They will be pumped!!! We have been a solid road team so we will not be intimidated but will have to bring our A-game.

Some of the fellas on the team should have good memories of the last time they were in Salt Lake.

Ted just said we are 1-6 against them. Utah wins their fair share at home but we will be primed and ready. If we keep our turnovers down

to a mild roar as we did today, that will be a great help. This game should be on at 10-p.m. on ESPN2. We will be burning the midnight oil

because that is what we do.

I remember Rick Majerus stomping the bejeezus out of a Mike Cohen team in the roundhouse. Pretty sure they did the same the next year at their place.

        Thank goodness times change.

This will be a good measuring stick for our young bigs. We know they have all kinds of potential. Can they do the job on the boards? Can they play solid defense? That's all we need. I say yes on the youngsters and yes to the Shocks by 8.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

This could prove to be our toughest Non-Con game this Season. It would be awesome to get a quality road win and I think we will do just that.

It is probably our toughest game until March.

                Comparison from StatSheet

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Keep in mind that these numbers are not adjusted for strength of schedule. Kenpom's Adjusted Offense and Defense rankings are a better measure for that:

AdjO (National Rank) AdjD (National Rank)
                      WSU 110.3 (9) 89.2 (13)
                      Utah 106.2 (43) 92.2 (33)
The reason for the disparity is that WSU's SOS in Kenpom is #51 while Utah's is #333.

This is going to be a hell of a test.

                        And we gon' win.

Kenpom has some disparity between the teams while Sagarin has the two very closely ranked (8 and 11 if I recall correctly). Should be a good game and hopefully Kenpom proves more accurate.

That makes a big difference, considering the strength of schedule. What is the highest ranked team that Utah has played.
