Best place to grab a burger is JL Beers. Downtown Sioux Falls. Tons of beers on tap too. I've lived in Sioux Falls the last 2 years and from the ICT. I don't realy ever post on here, but happy to help if anyone needs anything.

Getting to SF from Omaha is obvious - straight up I-29; however, with regards to getting to Omaha from Wichita, those taking I-135/Hwy 81 up to York, NE and then I-80 over to Omaha are asking for a longer route (time and mileage). The quickest way to Omaha from the Wichita area is the KS Turnpike up to Topeka, Hwy 75 north to Nebraska City, jump over a couple of miles into IA and hop on I-29, and shoot north. Take my word, I have much experience getting between Wichita and Omaha.
From a guy who has made the drive as much as anyone, this is absolutely the way to go. A lot of places to enjoy beverages in Sioux Falls, but recommend staying downtown for the ability to walk between Monks, JL Beers and others.

Heading out from Wichita around 1 in the afternoon monday, get a half day of work in.

I'm taking 4 lanes as much as possible, avoiding the 2 lanes. Don't trust them.

Due to the snow today we have decided to leave town at 1pm tomorrow. Gives us a little more time to adjust for weather. Will be going the way most are suggesting up to topeka ect. Look forward to seeing everyone there. Would be cool if everyone would wear a name tag with your shockernet user name.

The 81 route is a very short stretch of 2 lane - maybe 40 miles and that was as of 10 years ago. My guess is it's less than that now.

I'm not certain of what section of 81 you are referring to necessarily, but if you are talking about 81 between Salina (I-70) and York, NE (I-80), it has been 4 lane the whole section for at least 10 years.

Does anyone know what time the arena will open? Also what's the favorite spot to eat at in Sioux falls?

Lots of bars downtown which is a 10-15 min drive from hotel alley near the mall. Tap house 41 near the mall highly recommended by the locals. Foley is the premier non chain steakhouse

I'm talking about Hwy. 81 between York and Columbus - it used to be exclusively 2 lanes, but they re-routed traffic around York with a 4-lane bypass several years ago (less than 10) which shortened the aforementioned stretch and actually made it 4 lanes a little south of Columbus. I doubt they've widened 81 in places like Stromsburg, Osceola and Shelby.
