Possibly the goofballs in Chicago don't know that WSU already has 11 non-seniors and four signees, with speculative rumor mongering about other possibilities not named Smart? Unless the Shocks are allowed to run a D-League team, the only thing they need to do with this kid is persuade him to go to Loyola after all and help that program out.

Best of luck to Roosevelt Smart, who apparently has some ability and may be the proverbial fine young man -- I don't know. But if Marshall were going to follow the southern football practice of trying to flip a recruit, this is not where he would start.

It didn't seem to stop schools from contacting 2V after he gave his verbal commitment to the Shocks.

Didn't stop us from getting Carl Hall :)

Marshall has done it before and will do it again. There is nothing wrong with flipping recruits at all.

You know, it isn't just the coach. The recruit has to give the coach the time of day. Or the "relationship" would never develop.

At least from the football perspective, very, very few recruits seem to truly shut down their recruiting when they verbally commit. Most schools will even allow athletes to continue to take official visits to other schools after giving their verbal commitment.

Sometimes you'll get guys like FVV that give their verbal commitment as their words. Others will give their verbal commit as a way to lock up their safety school.

Does anybody know what's going on with Roosevelt Smart? He hasn't signed with anybody, and didn't seem to get much recruiting interest after decommitting from Loyola last fall.

Might he spend a second year at Sunrise as a post-grad and reclassify as a 2016 recruit? And if so, is WSU a possible destination?

247 shows that he signed his LOI with Loyola on 11/12/14. Maybe the guy that thought HCGM was tampering couldn't see that...or maybe HGCM recruited him to go to Loyola in order to help them out of the outer limits of the RPI.

You might want to get your facts straight before making a smart aleck comment. As I said in my initial post, Smart decommitted from Loyola and never signed. 247 is wrong.

I'm just trying to find out if anybody knows what's going on with his recruiting. I figured somebody might have connections with Sunrise on this board.

I did get my facts straight. It's a fact that 247 as of right now still shows that he signed his LOI on 11/12/14. It really makes no difference to me if he signed or not, other than to see what LIU fans were talking about as it pertained to HCGM's supposed tampering. I was cheering for Loyola in the postseason and do hope they get better. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

My understanding is he is waiting for Butler or another school to make a late offer; if not he could very well end up at Sunrise

I didn't realize a student could attend Sunrise for two years. Or does this mean it wasn't post-high school for him?

Sunrise is a high school with a post-grad (prep) program.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about that. So, he was there as a senior in high school, and could now (if he chose) stick around for the post-grad program?
