        The question is . . . .
How good are their guards? Can they handle our defensive pressure. If we pressure the guards enough the big guys will be pushed to operate farther out than they are comfortable. Our full court pressure defense may be a big weapon for us this game.

I'm not gonna pick against any team with Floor General Fred running the show.

So looking forward to the Mullings/Cotton matchup.

          The other Aggies 73

No disrespect to NMSU, but our guards will control this game

              Shox - 102
              Aggies - 67

I think some people got a little too excited after watching a game against an NAIA DII team. Aside from Kentucky, the Shox haven't played a team this good since the middle of last December.

They have two senior wing guards that were first and second in scoring last year for the team. I believe one in the Pre-Season POY in the WAC. They have two sophomore PGs that came off the bench last year.

Has ZERO to do with our team beating an NAIA team. Has to do with NMSU losing much of their backcourt through graduation and transfer.

One of them should have an interesting night.

Only one of three starters gone.

They lost six players from last year. 9 new players including a group of redshirts. But only 1 of these redshirts practiced with team last year.

Mullings, Eldridge, and Nephawe will be tough, but rest of roster is young and untested.

There are a lot of new players including a group of redshirts playing for WSU as well. I'm not saying we'll lose, I just think the 30-40 pt blowout predictions aren't likely. It'd be great though, and you are certainly entitled to that opinion.

I REALLY doubt their newcomers are on par with ours and I KNOW their returners aren't.

I am intimidated by their center (6'-10" not 7'-3"). They will be intimidated by us at every other position. I think it will be a good game, but I think this is a win. The fact that their 7'3" guy isn't starting tells me a lot about how much I need to worry about him. I bet we have a spatula hands/bad footwork situation but with great defense as long as he can stay in the paint. Well our bigs are NOT paint guys. He may be 7'3" but 335 lbs isn't going to want to follow Bush and Gumby around the three pt line. He would be useful against a different kind of center.
It's their 6'10" guy that will give us trouble I think. I think that guy will go for 15-20 and 10 on us but the rest of the team will struggle with our guards.

The 7-3 cats similarly sized older brother Sim averaged 10, 8, and 3 last year for NMSU and left early to play professionally.
