I think you have to redshirt Brown. I just don't see him contributing much this year. I think we have the luxury of being able to redshirt Henderson. He's a stud, but I think we're just fine at PG without him, although he would be a nice bonus to the rotation.

We need Henderson because if FVV and Baker both get into foul trouble at the same time, which they did at least once last year, do we put Cotton at the point or bring in Simon? I'd rather have Henderson as the third option.

I think last season worked fine with using Cotton as a rare third option. Like I said, Henderson would be a nice little bonus for those rare occurrences, but I think I'd rather have him for that 5th year. I will be fine with whatever decision Marshall/Henderson makes.

I love Cotton at the 2 and 3 but he's really struggled at point. I would prefer that we get Corey as much experience as possible while we still have Fred and Ron to bail him out if he's in over his head.

Coach loves to have as many point guards as possible. We had issues coach's first year when Matt got injured. I see coach trying to have two pure point guards with others filling in to help in spot minutes. Baker is not the long term backup.

Are we looking at this all wrong in the first place? When you start being able to recruit the upper levels year after year, do you really need to redshirt anyone ever?

i would think so but in strategic sense to fill a one year gap for depth. Kinda like insurance. But I agree with the premise of your question.

Agreed. Henderson is ready to go.

He will be just like FVV was as a frosh, behind ArmSTUD. That way, he'll be ready to contribute full time right away, in a year or two.

I think Brown will be able to contribute this year. He's a prep player, and think he will be fine, once the season actually gets rolling.

It will get even more crowded, at his position, next season. He might have to try and separate himself now, or have fear of getting even further buried, down the roster, next season.

If a player chooses not to redshirt and they end up not getting into any game all season, is that considered a redshirt? Or do they have to state that they want to take a redshirt before then? Can they state that they want the season that just finished to be their redshirt season?

Glass is a junior. Exhibitions don't count only for freshmen.

Again, not the actual rule but it does reference the rule. Although it sounds like you could redshirt Glass this year and just suspend him for 4 games next year.

I can't see them redshirting Henderson. You hear about what a great shooter he is, but when he got confident late, he made the defense look silly with his handle.
I'm not saying Glass is gonna be a James Anacreon type situation, but with our level of recruiting improving every year, and Hamilton at Sunrise, Shaq, Rauno and Kelly all Freshman, I'm not sure Glass figures into the picture for 3 years (maybe not even 2) Especially if Brown keeps growing, and they try to turn him into a stretch 4.
