You want the tickets 3 months before the season starts.

These things do not go together.
I bet a third of them are going to be listed as TBA game times anyways.

Years ago we would get them a month in advance or conveniently at Shocker Madness. Now, it's 4 days before the first game. Why the change?

A week prior to the first game seems more than adequate.

I hope there is never ever an uncontrollable delay by the postal service to where you don't receive your tickets by the opener. We sure wouldn't want any cushion between receiving your tickets and the actual first game of the season.

I'm just here to the complain.

And you are very good at what you do. :). JK. My take on this today is that I'm more worried about my putting stroke than I am about season tickets this week. But if I don't have them by the 8th, I'll be totally with you.

My guess is they hold out hope that some of the game times will be set when the TV deals are set and they want to be as accurate as possible when they send the tickets out for printing. Ultimately, there is a "drop-dead" date set for packet preparation and mailing that they're bumping into in recent yeas.

I would wager that everyone involved would prefer to do get them out earlier, but they can't control the unknowns. I doubt they enjoy telling folks to be patient, then also dealing with the occasional but inevitable postal service problems a la SB Shock.

I would actually be happy with the credit card ticket like we have in baseball, but I'm probably in the minority on that.

I've heard that when they used to send out tickets early they would end up reprinting a bunch when people lost them. That number has gone down significantly with the later delivery date.

What's the demographic that loses a packet full of tickets that cost them anywhere from roughly $500-$3300+?

I know around our house they are treated like the currency amount they represent.

It's only my speculation that (too many) people think it's just easier to ask them to be reprinted than to find them. Just my opinion and certainly an outdated one at that.

Once I mailed a letter to the westside from the eastside. It took 60 days to arrive and I am not joshing. The envelope was covered with wrinkles, foot prints, coffee stains and some minor tears.

That was not one of their finer moments.

That is NOT good.. Don't they realize that Nov. 4 is election day. The end of October means the US Postal Service is going to be totally bogged down with a ton of political mail from every candidate and every special interest group. All other mail gets delayed that time of year so they can get all of the political mail delivered by election day.

Because all that political mail is SO important. I would be thrilled if it just stopped. Same goes for the TV commercials. They are ruining television.
