There's nothing sarcastic about that.

It's ESPN's equal. It's ratings are multiplying through the roof. BIG EAST basketball is in like flint. Pretty soon, ESPN will be the laughing stock of American sports television as FS1 is clearly headed for mainstream glory.

Of course FS1's ratings are multiplying like crazy. Adding 1 new viewer per game gives them a 100% increasing in viewership. Can't ignore that kind of growth rate.

For the ESPN Family of Network games, I used the GoShockers Website for the TV Coverage.

For Example here is the 2013-14 Schedule with the TV coverage listed in the far right column: http://www.goshockers.com/SportSelec...&Q_SEASON=2013

I used this for the previous eight seasons.


Now I don't know how the games get on ESPN3 compared to the other ESPN type coverage. Someone with a TV/Communication Degree will have to tell me how all of that works specifically.

ESPN3 simply picked up COX 22 coverage I believe. Cuz all the games were Craig and Bruce as announcers.

If I may ask, why is having a game on ESPN better than ESPN2?? I've gotten the notion that you guys are more excited about ESPN than ESPN2, but I don't really understand. I mean if someone has ESPN on their TV package, they more than likely have ESPN2. I just don't see the difference. Can someone enlighten me?

My mom has the same tv package as she had 15 years ago. She doesn't need any other channels then the 52 or so that she has. That being said, she only gets espn and not espn2. So there are a few folks out there who won't be able to watch the Shox game on espn2.

Thank God we won the conference title last year -- we wouldn't have gotten any play only making it to the Final Four the year prior or having an undefeated season.

In addition to FSN1 not having any interest, the next thing will be for the mid major east to start slipping in overall conference strength. I will be ready to throw a party if the MVC surpasses them in conference strength. It may even be this year. If nothing else, I at least intend to keep track of how many individual valley schools have a higher RPI than CU. It's the least I can do :)

I suppose in the long term, it's neither here nor there, but I really want a huge dose of irony served up for them right now. The Shockers have done their part all throughout the McDermott era by constantly eclipsing everything, and now the MVC needs to follow through with seconds.

Without exaggerating I'm pretty sure I was able to watch almost ALL Shocker games last year on ESPN3. If it wasn't on ESPN or ESPN2 or FOX...it was on ESPN3. Seriously...I think all but maybe 2 were on somewhere. :)

Yep, agree with AZ. I live in the DC metropolitan area and watched nearly every game last year, whether on the ESPN family of channels or CBS. My wife hated it and my brother (who lives south of Wichita) was envious but I was ecstatic that I could witness almost every historic win of last season. I don't remember which games were not available but I remember there weren't too many.

I made the mistake of paying for a full year subscription of Shockervision and won't do that again.

All home games were available on Shockervision last year.

Yes, but it was not the same broadcast. Shockervision was as always, the scoreboard video combined with Mike Kennedy's play by play.

I've got tickets to those games !! But , I made the strategic decision to cut the TV cord a couple months ago , and was hoping to find a nice option for the road games....... Of course there are commercial places , or somebody else's house.... Then again , might just get into listening to Kennedy again.......

Almost all of our road games will be on ESPN3. Find a buddy that has cable and see if he will give you his logon info so you can watch. Also, there are other "free" websites tht show a lot of our away games.
