Yeah, this is absolutely stupid. Players are hated because they are absolute a-holes (see Marshall Henderson, Marcus Smart, etc.).

I didn't really hate the Kentucky guys other than WCS for staring down Darius(?) after his and-one dunk in the first half. I thought it was kinda funny when one of the Harrison twins told Ron that he was a bad, bad boy. I didn't even hate Doug McDermott. I thought he was vastly overrated since he is a non-defender, but from all accounts, Doug is a good dude. Seeing Kellen Marshall's tweet taking a picture with Doug at the Final Four was kinda odd...but it shows the respect between the Marshalls and the McDermotts.

Ron Baker is not even close to being a jerk, therefore he cannot be hated.

but i don't believe that baker is hated. he's well respected around the league a 'la, say, darren brooks back in the day.. he carries himself the right way. a nuisance might be somebody like kyle weems, whom all mvc opposing fans loved to hate, or that guy that finally graduated from creighton at 27 years old- what was his name? the cheap foul and then a wink against north carolina guy?

No sir I would never yell at Commando Cotton. Of course, I would never yell at Baker either. But I get your point about opposing fans picking targets and fear and intimidation.

I agree although I was a little surprised that he reported that Ron gets very animated when on the court. Not sure I have seen that Ron. Seems look he stays pretty cool, calm and collected to me. Probably the most animated I have seen him was in St. Louis when he encouraged Shocker Fans to give it up for Jake Odom when he left the game.
