Shaq tweeted a couple of months ago that he was at 250 or 255 (then). Earlier reports on him indicated he was indeed changing his body shape for the better. We will find out soon enough what the real situation is...

Lol - It's kinda funny how we are all pushing and hoping for a Shaq morph. The kids already good...but everyone knows he can be better with a tad less carry-on luggage. Do any of you guys remember a player out of Arkansas who went league for the Phoenix Suns back in the early 90's???

Corliss Williamson? Other examples are Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Sean May from North Carolina. If he were on the court, he'd prob drop 10-15 pounds during the season.

Jai Lewis, 6-7, 275, played for George Mason and we saw him 1st hand at Koch Arena. However, he I don't recall him playing above the rim, but he knew how to use that big rear end.

                Player Weights

The WSU MBB office told me 2 or 3 weeks ago that the player weights are monitored and provided by WSU weight & conditioning coach, Kerry Rosenbloom. I went to a scrimmage shortly after that to see the new players play for the 1st time. I sat on 2nd row on the east side & there was a guy who sat in front of me who goes to a lot of practices who pointed out who some of the players were, one being Rashard Kelly. There is no way he weights 234 from what I saw thereHe doesn't look as big as Zach Brown who is listed at 213. Maybe he had on a lead belt the last time he was weighed!? -:) And, to answer "Blackandgold's" question as to whether or not Shaq Morris has muscle or fat on his body, there has been an ongoing discussion on the subject during his redshirt year. Shaq has undergone what may be described as a paradigm shift in attitude during that time. He has been counseled by Fred Van Vleet & eventually the entire team from what I heard from one of the players this spring. It's somewhat similar to what JT Durley went thru when Marshall first became the coach at WSU. I don't think Shaq would even be on the roster anymore if he hadn't changed his attitude. A year ago when he first arrived, he kept getting injured because he was no longer in shape. That is no longer the case. The thing that really drives Shaq to improve is that he really loves being a Shocker. As for Rian Holland weighing 145, he told me at a softball game this past spring that his goal was to get to 160 by the start of the season.

The listed weights are certainly interesting.

Tractor Traylor played in the NBA as well. I think he was actually traded on Dirk Nowitzki on NBA draft night. I do remember seeing him pass away a few years back tho.

If Morris actully weighs 275 and sets screens the way Marshll coaches, someone is going to get hurt. I'm wondering if it might be a typo. IIRC earlier reports put him more in the 257 range. Or maybe the athletic department wants to use his size as a bit of intimidation to opponents. Heights get fudged all the time. If you've got a wide body, why not fudge the weight?

I can play above the rim still...maybe.

I saw him this summer. He looked more like a road grader, mauling, NFL guard than a basketball player.
