Interesting how you included in your little rant a team that lost to a CBI quality team and dropped only 1 spot. Hilarious.

Of the 5 teams immediately behind KU in the previous poll, 4 lost a game in the past 7 days. The only team to have an undefeated week, WSU, passed KU.

His fact was that they lost to a not very good KState team. Remember how far we fell when we lost to GW? I do. 5 spots. Teams very close to each other in computer metrics? KSU and GW. That also was not our 6th loss.

K-State gets 2 votes in the coaches poll - wow.

I don't see a problem with this. Ksu has 5 top 25 rpi wins. Only kansas and Wisconsin have more (6). Yes, they have some ugly losses, but while the tournament should be body of work, I think the top 25 should be a snapshot of who is playing best that week, and I don't have a problem with ksu being seen as somewhere around 25 TODAY.

Also, no votes for KSU in the AP poll, just the two in the coaches poll.

5 teams passed the Shockers after the GW loss. Guess what those 5 teams had in common? They were on the Shocker's heels in the polls entering the week and then didn't lose a game that week. Compare to the team's right behind KU this week, who as I already pointed out, almost all had losses themselves.

Also, if you expect as much poll movement in March from week to week as you do in December when the sample size is less than half as many games, you are crazy.

I'm going to stop responding regarding KU's poll rank this week because I don't want to distract anymore from what a great week it is/was for the Valley. The fact that UNI and WSU gained a net 2 spots is very encouraging.

In a sense you are right, but no individual person voted them #43. 2 voters actually had to vote them #25, and THAT is plain stupid.

WSU has now been ranked in the AP poll for 36 consecutive weeks, with an average ranking of 9.8.

The last time WSU was not ranked in the AP poll, they made voters question their decision by going to the Final Four.

Yep and Yep. On the bright side, unlike last year, WSU may actually have the potential to pick up a very good win this week as well.

The Shocks should have a MVC tourney championship next week by polling time, which means they will have won 3 games. KU might make the jump the following week if they run the table in their conference tourney.
