I don't think WSU is receiving any less "benefit of the doubt" this year. I think they simply have 2 actual losses on the resume (compared to none all regular season last year) and have dropped in the rankings accordingly.

There was doubt last year. There was some ambiguity. This year, not so much.

I just don't know of any other team who wins on the road by 10 points and they drop in the polls.

My general philosophy was the same in both cases.
My opinion of WSU dropped after the Drake game.
My opinion of Kentucky dropped after the Ole Miss game.

However, it would be bonkers to say that a close win against Drake and a close win against Ole Miss deserve the exact same penalty.

Ole Miss has more top 100 wins (3) than Drake has division 1 wins (2).
Ole Miss is currently looking at the NIT. Drake is currently looking at being the worst team the MVC has seen in a decade.

I've actually been surprised at how high the Shockers have remained after each of their losses. What ever you want to call it, benefit of doubt, respect, etc. The Shockers have remained higher than I expected. Not sure if it's based on years of immediately dropping out after a loss or what, but this year has been really enjoyable in regards to ranking.

I think that the fact that we've become a "name" team has a lot to do with that.

Seth stuck his neck out when he said we were overrated 3 weeks ago. He's stubborn and will stick to his guns until he can't anymore (remember how our absolute ceiling on his AP ballot was 8th last year until suddenly it wasn't).

Keep winning for another week or two and he'll have to jump us up 7-8 spots at once.

I still like him and think he's a fun read.

So Duke can lose to a not-good NC State team and drop 1 spot? VCU at 12? Maryland loses to Illinois is at 13. Iowa State and OU both drop deuces (OU to a horrible KSU team) and we get a Top 50 road win and are at 17? Is something wrong with this picture?

How come every other team gets a pass for losing on the road but if we would've lost today, we likely would have exited Seth's cute little Top 25 ballot?
