Would not play for me yesterday. Today, after about 10 seconds, it says the selected item is not currently available.

There is a NBA Summer League app (Apple for sure, not sure about droid..etc)

If you download that and go to the menu button you can select video on demand. Look for "Top 10 plays July 19" and his dunk is #7. Still on there as I just watched it.

Not that it really matters since he wasn't a shocker, but Denzel Bowles has a highlight video of a block under video on demand also if you keep scrolling.

Jus found it interesting. I actually didn't watch it myself.

Any chance Denzel Bowles make a roster? Following Turgeon turned out to be a mistake for him.

I've never been a big NBA fan as an adult, mostly because it all looked the same. I was just about to give OKC another chance. I don't know that I will now.

Looks like Cle is staying grounded when you review his Twitter feed. Glad to see that. Here's to prayin' that he stays that way! Sick 'em Cle!!

This whole draft thing ticked me off. First, my favorite team the C's drafted Marcus Smart which made blood fly out of my ears. Most overrated player in CBB in several years, el busto at the next level. He's a middle linebacker playing basketball, has to have the ball in his hands or he's worthless. But most distressing of all is that he can't shoot! Well, I take that back. If you look at the summer league stats, he can shoot... in fact he takes a ton of shots ... he just doesn't make any. In six games I think he was around 30% from the field. So now the Celtics three guards are Rondo at $13 mil who can't shoot, Avery Bradley at $7 mil who can't shoot, and Smart at $3.5 mil who can't shoot. How stupid is that!

Second, that was the Cleanthony dropping to the second round deal. When did we reach the point where teams don't even want to be in the draft? The draft used to be about trying to get players to improve your team, now once we get past the first 15 or so, teams are hiding under their tables hoping no one can find them. They all want to pass on their pick. Which leads me to this question with regards to OKC in particular, why go through all this maneuvering to not pay a guy first round money when they don't even want to draft a player? Why didn't they just trade the pick or pull a Vikings and pass altogether?

So what's the difference between the Thunder tanking their first draft pick by drafting a not-ready-for-NBA player (and having him sign a D-League contract) and the Rockets tanking their first round draft pick by drafting a not-ready-for-NBA player (currently playing in Europe) so that they could save cap space chasing after someone who would never sign with them (Chris Bosch). BTW, the Rockets made a run at Bosch the last time he was available and he played them that time, too.

The only difference I can see is that the Rocket's plans blew up in their faces when they lost both Cle AND Chandler Parsons.........

I think the Rocket's GM is really dumb, but what do I know. I probably would have considered attending some games if they had drafted Cle (as they were projected to do in at least one mock draft that I saw).

I agree with Fuente858. If a team is trying to strategize (and in the Rocket's case save cap $$$) just don't use your pick at all.

Silly headline on Paul's post, as was the stuff about a happy ending maybe having gone bad. From all indications, Early is thrilled to be back in New York. If OKC's move, which was a creative gamble by a team that's well run and financially sound, does anything it will be to give Cle just one more incentive to prove them wrong.

If you're an achiever with big aspirations, which Early pretty obviously is, all this stuff about guaranteed contracts and sliding to the second round is whiny, myopic, small potatoes. Chandler Parsons is barely bigger than Cle and was just six months younger on draft day when he too was chosen in the second round (38th overall vs. 34th for Early). Now, three years later, Parsons has just signed a free agent deal that will pay him significantly more next year than any member of the NBA champion Spurs makes (yes, even their sure Hall of Famer in waiting), for the simple reason that he stepped up and performed at a high level.

That's where Cle is now: he just needs to stay healthy; use his considerable skills, athletic ability, and motivation; play the way he can; and keep getting better. If he does those things, a few years from now he has a very real chance to be successful and rich beyond his dreams -- "second rounder" or not. Phil Jackson is a smart basketball guy. If Cle shows that he can do what it takes, he'll have all the opportunity he needs.

Edit: Good line about Marcus Smart and his shooting, Fuente. That's why Marshall says he doesn't want a shooter; he wants a maker.

Cle looked great in the Summer League.

I would expect that positive momentum to really help him going into the season.
