Going to Knicks ‘a blessing’ for Cleanthony Early

If falling into the second round of the NBA Draft bothered Cleanthony Early, he hid it behind his excitement at joining the New York Knicks.

Early, born in the Bronx, spoke to reporters on a conference call Monday and focused on his future. Projected by many to go in the first round, Early waited at Brooklyn’s 40/40 Club on Thursday evening until the Knicks grabbed him with the 34th pick, four spots into the second round.

"It’s a blessing," he said. "I can’t ask for a better position. It’s where I was born and where I was raised."

If there is any truth to Cle taking a loan to buy bling all I can say is _dumbass_. It's not unusual that dumbass athletes do exactly that. And then they wonder why they are broke. Great ball player, I just hope he's not a dumbass. Based on the pic at KU where he feels it necessary to try and show some jewelry off, and now this, my guess is he's going to be broke within 10 years.

Nothing wrong with showing a Final Four watch and eating some nachos.

A chunk of what money? Has Cle inked a deal with the Knicks?

And when and if he does sign and the money starts flowing a really big chunk (about 40%) will be going to the U. S. Treasury and the New York Department of Revenue.

you skipped point A and went straight to Z. If he is spending money, he has some money in his possession. That boy loves his momma, and the first thing he would do when anybody wrote him a check would be to give a sizable amount to his mother. I wasn't talking about salary or his taxes or any other stupid stuff. I was simply saying he isn't blowing his wad on jewelry.
