That definitely sheds doubt on McCants' statement.

Have I missed something? Did UNC make an announcement? Has HCGM made an announcement? Is there even a situation upon which Out alma mater, ADES, or HCGM should comment? What am I missing other than a thread that is essentially historical fiction? Historical in that the NCAA investigated UNC, the investigation is complete, 1 player has made an allegation, the entire team has subsequently publicly refuted said allegation, and now Shockernet posters are "what-ifing" the matter.

      Am I missing something?

There's only one, maybe two, Shockernetters jumping from McCants' statement to HC3GM leaving.

JH4P your reading skills appear to be deficient; note that Aargh posted "Neither Roy nor UNC has any reason to fear anything from the NCAA." You don't view that as a statement of belief by Aargh?

Frankly, I think the thread should be deleted and you - at the least - be given a time out for even thinking the thread title alone was a rational thought (at this point in time). You saw a media report that might indicate "A" and you jumped all the way to "ZZ".
"...exponential level of speculation" is a catchy phrase; perhaps you should have put a little "meat" in your post to explain what variable I presented in my initial post that lead you to use this phrase and conclude that something is "...completely and utterly ridiculous". The only speculation I offered in my initial post was asking if "McCants acknowledgement in todays ESPN article could be the start of Roy's death knell as BB coach at UNC."

IMO a fan who does not think Marshall will accept an offer to coach the Tar Heels if/when offered is practicing "complete and utterly ridiculous" denial.

For those who missed a rather well-known quote from Jerry Tarkanian - here it is:
"the NCAA is so mad at Kentucky, it will probably slap another two years' probation on Cleveland State."
The thought was that the NCAA couldn't afford to punish a key revenue generator, so it saved any real sanctions for the lower divisions.

Yes, I believe the NCAA found no violations at UNC. Yes, I believe that Roy and UNC have no reason to fear any significant sanctions from the NCAA. There's a difference between believing those two statements and believing that no violations happened at UNC.

My statements were presented as evidence that the NCAA does not punish the big names and the big money makers. It's the lesser-known schools that get sanctions so the NCAA can create the appearance that they are a governing body.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

This is ridiculous. The title of this thread is "Marshall to Replace Williams at North Carolina????," a title that denotes an urgency with repeated question marks. There has been no talk of Roy leaving. There has been no talk of additional investigations by the NCAA either. To jump to that conclusion, one must either be simple or a troll.

Yes, Shock a person with a simple mind could read the title as a "conclusion" rather than a question. For such a person to jump to such a conclusion is ridiculous.

Your thread title is asinine and inane at current development. If you can't see that then I guess you can continue to intellectually masturbate yourself over in the corner.

There is substantial risk to a coach's career legacy to succeed an extremely successful coach at a legendary program. UNC has had its share of trials and mis-trials. KU has been successful in their hires, predominantly. UK has had its share of not-so-successful replacements. Just sayin' it might be something to consider before making such a move.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Nothing wrong with speculation. If the military has a contingency plan for a zombie attack, the hiring of HCGM at UNC doesn't seem that far-fetched.
Besides, who wouldn't rather have HCGM than Roy. Of course having Coach K in your corner could either help or hurt when it comes to UNC.
