Gal just doesn't know how to manage the clock in the final 2 minutes. He's like the Herm Edwards of college basketball.

Also, I'd love to have Clemente on the Jays right now. We could use a rebounder like that.
It is best to phrase your question like this: Why didn't Gal, in his infinite stupidity and talentlessness...?
T
...8)
The simple fact is, one person stepped up last night and that was Ramon. He would have taken the ball. He wanted the ball, and worked to get open. PJ was hiding. Matt is just not physical enough to handle what the ref's were allowing, Phil and JT don't know how to not foul, or step up at the line. Gal makes Sophomoronic mistakes with the ball, but he wasn't the only one to make them last night. Our SENIOR scholarship players all had as many or more turnovers than Gal did last night. That includes PJ, Matt, and Phil.
Phil fouled out in 19 mins, without a single rebound. Gal was 1-10 from the floor. Why? Did anyone watch the game. He and Matt had no choice but to chuck it up. ISU was tight inside and not allowing anything in. PJ wasn't working to get open, he was just bouncing around. Ramon had position several times, but they couldn't get him the ball. Gal has been cold from the floor, but PJ has had several of those games this year as well.

So he should be an option to shoot, but not distribute.

Anyway, we didn’t score again until the game was tied. PJ also missed a critical break-away dunk when we had around a 15 point lead (I assume it was a dunk… the channel 22 cameramen was taking a break from the action). I honestly believe that those 2 missed opportunities completely changed the momentum of the game and sucked the life out of our team.SFL is back!

im kind of responding to DJA as well as making a general statement as well.
Ramon has been everything we missed last year. Unfortunately we needed more than what we are getting from him this year.
What I mean is,
Ramon is that consistent post presence as far as being in the paint and rebounding. His scoring and offensive abilities at time leaves one to desire, but man what we could have done with him last year.
Due to injuries and other of the sort we need him to fill a more offensive role with this team. Our shooting as a team has been horrid all year, with the exception of the last few games. So Ramo hasnt needed to be that much of a threat on the O side of things.
But with all that said Im glad he has came here. And with his defense, rebounding and overall pedal to the medal attitude im more than fine with his lack of scoring ability and as well as the promise that that ability has shown itself and forthcoming

I am pretty sure that doesn't work. Neither does closing your eyes, covering your eyes, yelling, screaming or kicking anything else in range.

I got your point, but it just seems that every game Gal is blamed for a mistake or two that cost us the game, or could have cost us the game. Even against Northern Iowa, with the big shots he did make, people complained that he didn't shoot well, or made a bad pass, etc.
Matt, PJ, and Phil make just as many mistakes. Gal wants the ball at crunch time, unlike PJ and Phil, and most teams will deny Matt the ball leaving one option. Guess what, he is a Soph., not a Senior. The seniors should be demanding the ball. PJ. Not playing hot potato when you do get it. PHIL. And if no one else shows for the ball, or helps set a screen to get Matt the ball, what is Gal supposed to do? Shoot or keep dribbling are his two options, and knowing his shot wasn't falling last night, he kept trying to get the ball to SOMEONE.

The point is that a game is made up of so many individual plays, with so much focus on the end.
If PJ makes that dunk, we win. There were so many of those plays that needed to be made from that point on, that if made change the outcome of the game, and NO ONE, not Matt, not PJ, not Gal, not Phil, not Ramon, not JT, not Lance, not Aaron, not Wendell, made the play that needed to be made.
You can't call out one person last night. And most nights for that matter. Yes, occasionally there is that situation that falls on one person (chris webber and his infamous TO), but rarely.
