ESPN gave a clue today:
"That said, there is one vague hint to offer today: We are running out of truly fresh faces. Closing in on the top 10, the list shifts to many of the usual suspects, the indisputables -- the guys who, whether had we asked our panel to vote on a list of the best coaches in the past decade or the past three decades, would end up in the top 10-12 names no matter what."

However, I concur on Self, Donovan, Izzo, Krzyzewski, Pitino, Beilien.
Not Williams, Crean, Ollie.
Boehiem will probably be selected, but he would not be on my list of top ten.
I am shaky in saying no on Ollie."Prediction is very difficult, especially if it is about the future."

One other thought that just came to mind, possibly posted by someone else before now -- I've been under the weather the past few days and my revelations are coming less quickly and clearly than usual -- is that unless the upset of the year lies ahead, Marshall's predecessor is also not on the list and indeed didn't even get noted as one of the 25 who just missed. Yes, his former assistant Tad Boyle was #34, but the guy who began WSU's resurrection and made hiring Marshall possible wasn't in the panel's TOP 75. Even Dana Altman was in the 51-75 group, for heaven's sake. So:
a) Sorry, Larry Brown -- the grass is not always greener than it is "at this level." You're a far better coach than adviser (possibly true of St. Roy, as well).
b) And once again, a million thank yous to Jim Schaus for the Mother of All Upgrades. Even if JS hadn't done as much as he did to revive the athletic program's fortunes as a whole, he'd probably still belong in the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame just for hiring Marshall.Last edited by WSUwatcher; June 17, 2014, 03:41 PM.

Still a joke at #14. Looks like Mark Few's resume, only hasn't done it as long as Mark and has had the advantage of doing it in BCS leagues.
