The announcement could have been to schedule a presser, but they didn't. My belief is they are giving a coach the time he needs to meet with his players on his timetable, no matter who that coach is. It does rule out Anderson and Howland.

This isn't just Mizzou fans speculating, the media is in on this too. If I were a Shockers fan, I would want Marshall to say he was staying.
He told a recruit and his parents, who signed an LOI just last Friday that he would be his coach. What more does he need to tell us?

I remember all the posts I made on the Winthrop message board and the Jacksonville message boards when we had a coaching vacancy as well.

Thats where I got all my info and posted my thoughts on the anticipation of our coaching hire.

You're counting from 1 to 10, and sort of leaving out 2-8.

That could be said about any coach in the country. Situations are fluid, they change. No matter who it is.

The media has stopped speculating long ago.

How many plates are you spinning? How many accounts have you created in the last few weeks at different message boards? If the minor mentions Marshall has been getting in the Mizzou coaching search cause you to post this much here, I can only imagine how many posts you've got going on in the message boards of coaches who are actually "hot" names in the search right now.

I actually don't want my coach to stoop to the level of disavowing any knowledge of the Mizzou coaching search. I know it's beneath him at this point. The UCLA job I was worred about a little because it's UCLA. If Marshall had to publicly say he's not interested in Mizzou it would set the program back at least 4 years. He's moved so far past the level of taking a job at Mizzou it's not even funny.

I know this is all hard news for you to read. Reall, I know it is. But Mizzou just isn't the program you think it is. Seriously. It's not.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Except no one around here thinks that this is even remotely realistic. The only discussions that I've had on the subject were started by Missouri people. Tell me, why would he answer a question that's not being asked by anyone from his own fan base? Do you think that he cares one iota for MU fan's anxiety problems.

Yes, you're absolutely right. It's my reading of the situation, and I may be wrong.

Marshall is not "any" coach, and it will take a lot more than an extra $1M per year to take over a rebuild with what he has already built here. He's a basketball coach, not a house flipper.

Why is everyone glossing over the tweet from Wessler? He is pretty well-known in that part of the country. Won several awards, a legit journalist. He says its Anderson.."Done deal"

I have accounts at the Mizzou message boards I named, that's it. I registered here this morning, I have no others. I don't have more than one ID on any Missouri boards, either. I don't see a need if I'm being honest, and I am. Your opinion of Mizzou as a basketball job is not shared by people around the country. It has been talked about recently as a top 30 job by others, not Missouri people, and they said that was a drop from a few years ago. But it's not my intention here to compare dinguses. Either a coach is interested in a job, or he's not. I think it's possible. The vast majority of you here do not, and that's great.

Just for your information, Marshall has been the "hot" name for awhile now. If you have read Missouri boards, you'd know that was true. I personally think Howland would do a great job, and he was my first choice. Marshall is lots of other fan's, though.

I've never represented anything other than I think it's in the realm of possibility, that's it. That's not the same thing as saying "done deal" or "for sure." I don't know anything, I'm just a fan.

Here's the deal. Everyone likes to know their worth. Was there a price when Coach would have said yes? Sure, everyone has a price. Was Missouri about to pay it? lol

Alden made contact NOT to know if he could talk to Gregg (he knew he couldn't get there) but to inquire who was on Eric's short list if Gregg ever left.

Even better, during the talk, Eric asked about having Missouri come to Intrust. Alden said he loved the idea (they need the money) but didn't want to commit before he could discuss with the new coach (whomever it turned out to be). Alden wanted to know if we'd consider a Intrust/Sprint package but apparently we're just looking for a "buy" game right now.

for the same reason they ignored Marshall last week telling his newest recruit he wasn't going any where. They are in denial.

Until you check those lottery tickets, there's always the chance one of them's a winner.

After you check them, you know you are a loser.
