One of the guys with "inside sources" on tigerboard who guaranteed that Marshall was being hired has now started to backtrack. He says Marshall asked for 3.2 million and priced himself out. All of the fans who were dumb enough to believe that Marshall was going there are saying they're happy they didn't hire Marshall because 3.2 million is way too much.

Actually I would believe that some. He told Wake he wanted guaranteed 25 mil over 7 years to even TALK. I am sure he told Mizzou the same. Knowing they wouldn't pony up that dough and if they did he would at least let them make their pitch. That's pretty much saying Marshall will only leave for a "basketball school" - not a "football school". Marshall's price to even have a discussion is up with football coaching salaries. We've got Gregg Marshall playing coy with reporters, but more in a general "I'm not in the mood for this" way than any sort of "I've got something to hide" way. I feel for the Missouri fans (well, maybe not SOME of them on TB). The ones that were making snarly remarks were only doing so in frustration of absolutely no news and were just trying to pass the time. This has gone on long enough. The week long search and then having to wait over an entire weekend for any word would drive any sports fan crazy. I hope they do get a coach they will be happy with and can get behind and support (just not ours).Comment
