Still just amazed that a highly skilled big man in the 6'-10" range hasn't signed on to play catch and dunk with FVV, Baker and Cotton. I know those types like the "status" of telling all their high-school friends that they are going to Kentucky...but damn you would think one of these skilled big guys across this great country would say, "Screw-it....I'm gonna go ball at Wichita St.!!!"

AZ's sentiments remind me of the Kentucky sub that played so good off the Kentucky bench versus Louisville that I don't remember playing at all in our game versus Kentucky. Such a 4 -5 type player that is that good should not have to get splinters from pine time when there is opportunity with FVV and Baker who have eyeballs in the back of their head, while getting the rock inside for easy baskets.

Our non-conference schedule sounds brutal for next year. I'm not going to take a stab in the dark at our record, but I think from November to December we're going to put on some of the most entertaining basketball in the country. Every station will be fighting for the ability to broadcast our games.

I wonder, in the history of anything, if there's ever been a coach that's managed to improve for 7 consecutive seasons at the same job?

Think about it....First you have to start really bad and end really, really good. The laws of numbers say it would be next to impossible. Then, get that much better and you're going to move on....only improve a little off being terrible and you'll be gone too. You have to do this over the course of 2 generations of players...at least.

Seriously....try to find one. 7 straight seasons.

How many Halls of Fame will he be inducted into before it's over? Winthrop? No doubt. Wichita State? As soon as he's eligible and they could EASILY vote an exemption if they wanted. NCAA? Probably depends on how long he coaches.....He's at 368 right now, he'll be inside the top 100 and passing Terry Holland, Jud Heathcoat and Digger Phelps before Fred VanVleet retires his jersey in the rafters. He'll be in the Hall. He continues to amaze and there's no reason to think that's changing anytime soon.

I have seen that for the three-game tournaments that teams have scheduled another game outside the bracket with a team they most likely won't play on the other side of the bracket. That would make it possible to pick up a 31st game. Whether we do that or not is another story, but it can be done.

Obviously a ton can change from now and when the season starts next year, but what are your guys predictions for wins and loses next year? With the way the roster currently looks, I would say we will probably have somewhere around 3-5 losses headed into march madness. I think cold shooting nights and going up against experienced bigs could cost us a game here and there next season. So I guess I'll say we will be 30-4 headed to the dance. All this could change if we land the right big man with our last scholarship though!

What I'm really g trying to dig up is an old thread somewhere that we all made some predictions in so we can compre it to our current swings and misses thread. This is down the right road but I think there might be one with more team specific comments.
