  • Here's Why MSU Refuses to Spend Money On BB

The MSU AD seems to think MSU should be in an FBS conference. There were the CUSA rumors a few years back, but those were pretty silly. There's another rumor going around now, and this one might be a little more believable. MSU is rumored to be looking at the Sun Belt.

I hope they have a few more herds of cattle to sell if they're going to make the move to FBS without bowl or TV revenue possibilities - oh, wait - there's that "get paid to get beat on by good teams" thing they think will pay the way.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Looking back on their past decade or so, they seem to be pretty bad-mediocre. If they can't even compete on the FCS level, why should they even be considered for FBS?

I think you just sounded out the rationale for joining the "Sun Belt" (LOL).

If Loyola is the choice to replace Creighton, I can't even fathom what the jokers will add if MSU leaves.

Does University of Phoenix have an Illinois "campus" that also plays club sports?

Can't have the Missouri Valley without a Missouri school. So it would probably be SEMO.

Their football team is too good for the Valley.

I am still not 100% sure we are leaving. We were very, very close to leaving for CUSA until some school presidents balked and Britton Banowsky couldn't force them to do the right thing. This time I think it is legitimate, but I sincerely hope that the Sun Belt are men and women of their word. Football is king. That's our future and the future of college athletics. I hope we can still play in most sports though. If this actually happens this time.

Football is king until it ceases to exist in 15 years.
