Haven't been on here since our loss. There have been a number of great games, but the best with both teams playing at a high level has to be WSU and Kentucky. Both teams shot over 50% from the field, and thats with great defense being played. Low number of turnovers, just a great game full of big shots. There were several little things that cost us, Baker on the breakaway wasn't aware of the Kentucky player coming up from behind, if he was he would have dunked the ball and probably would have had a three point play. Early who had a game of the ages had the ball roll around the rim and out on the finger roll, just like someone pushed the ball out, couldn't believe it didn't stay down. When we had the nine pt. lead early in the second half, I believe Wiggins might have missed two freethrows and then they banked in a three, basically a five point turn-around. But what really cost us the game was rebounding, they had alot of offensive rebounds, especially in the second half and them shooting 17 freethrows in the second half and making all but two if I remeber right. Lets face it though, like Caliperi said this was an elite 8 game, winner going to final four, and he was right, Kentucky is going to the final four. We had a fantastic year, we were the best team in the state and won of the top three or four teams in the country, no doubt. The selection commitee didn't do us any favors, I really think they want'd to make it as hard on us as possible. Can't wait till next year, I think we will be even better. Is anyone else tired of reading about all the 5-star one and dones coming to Kansas next year, I just want to puke...Self is trying to buy himself a title

I hate to say it, but there is a reason why UK played so great against us, particularly their guards. They were just too big and athletic for our guys to handle. So its not like they just magically turned on their best game of the year, we had a lot to do with that. And even though teams like South Carolina are not very good, I bet they have guards that - while they are far less talented than our guards in general - are bigger and more athletic than ours who could mitigate the Harrison twins.

They didn't do that almost all season. That's why they beat WSU and lost to UCONN.The Assman

Classic case of a team playing up to its competition...we brought out the best in Kentucky. Despite our defense, they shot the best from beyond the arc and overall against us and hit their free throws--not something they did any any other tournament game. Had they played against us like they did in any of their other tournament games--they would have lost. Just hate the fact that our advancement was stymied by one play for two years in a row.

Looks like it is offical now:
The 10 best games of the 2014 NCAA Tournament
1. Kentucky 78, Wichita State 76: The only thing this game was missing was a shot that fell as time expired. The Shockers proved they earned a No. 1 seed by playing the best game of the tournament. Kentucky, which had to win four games by five points or less, never played better at any point this season than in this game.
An undefeated team, a group chasing 40-0, was beaten by a squad that hoped to go 40-0 back in October. There was some moaning over pairing these two teams in this spot, but if we're going to get this game at the Round of 32 or never at all, I'll take it when we can get it.
You know who was really good in this game? Andrew Harrison, not Aaron. Andrew had 20 points. Cleanthony Early (season-high 31 points) and Ron Baker hit huge shot after huge shot. The game was tense from tip to OT, and that's why it's No. 1. No game was nearly as thrilling or gripping as this one, and remember, there was a lot of hype coming in as well. It exceeded it. Ten years from now, I think we'll remember UConn winning it all, the Kentucky freshmen salvaging a season, and Wichita State's perfect year coming to an end in an all-time classic. This game stands out above all others.
Each team brought out the best in the other, which is always the sign of an NCAA Tournament epic.
