While I am incredibly proud of this team and what they've accomplished this season it is hard not to feel empty with how it ended. I've spent my days in the car this season glued to the radio to take in everything I could about this team's run but today I just can't do it. It's just music today. I honestly don't even want to hear from casual fans about their perspectives and breakdown of that last game. I threw something in the trash this morning and found my 7 year old's bracket there. His was leading our family in picks BTW but he was just done. My oldest son definitely took it the hardest though. He's had the opportunity to be a ball boy for the last several years and go to the camps and absolutely loves this team. It makes me realize how much of an impact this stuff has on all of us. We invest in this team as a family and our kids love the opportunity to get out of school to follow the Shox for trips to St. Louis and KC etc. It's tough for everyone but I suppose the important part is that the fan base of this team is ridiculously passionate and growing which is awesome. It makes the highs like a final four run and an undefeated season really special but it makes those critical losses very difficult too. But like everything the sting will wear off and we will be looking forward to an exceptional 2014-2105 season and putting ourselves through it all over again. Most of all we're just proud to be Shocker fans and even more proud to be passing that on to our kids. Go Shox and let's do this again!"We can't win at home. We can't win on the road. As the general manager, I just can't figure out where else to play." -Pat Williams

I tried to capture some solace in the fact that I now do nothave to drive the 7 hours to get to St.Louis before going on to Indy. Three times in four weeks being on I-70 for that particular terrain is cruel and unusual punishment, but I would have gladly made the sacrifice had Sunday's result been different."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

I'm glad to see all the black and yellow, and all the Go Shockers and Play Angry signs, still up in Wichita. This morning, I drove downtown and noticed as I passed the Hiland dairy on East Central that the cow on the roof over the front door, which I've never seen dressed before, is still wearing four black and yellow striped knee socks.
Moo Angry! How bad can things be when even the cows wear your colors?

Fred Van Vleet, one of the more mature young people around, selected Perspective to drive his season. Look where he is now compared to when he was 5-years old and losing his father to drug violence in Rockford, Illinois. Look where our program is now compared to the 1990's. Yes, we wanted more and yes we probably deserved more. But we ain't doing so bad and we are certainly heading in the right direction.
The best is yet to come. Go Shocks.

In just a few short years, HCGM, his staff, and the players, have elevated the program to where an exit in the round of 32 in the NCAAs is a disappointment. Not too long ago, just getting to the NCAAs was a thrill. And as 1972 says, the best is yet to come. I believe that we belong. I believe it is always our time. I believe we drive in the fast lane. GO SHOCKS! March onward banners high with courage force that will never die!Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

Speaking of driving in the fast lane isn't it time Wichita looked to improve the signage on I-35 and the Turnpike touting WSU? I mean the sign depicting kusm-Wichita is larger than any other sign with WSU on it. A small point but it really chaps my butt.

Well, my wife says I have moved on. I didn't yell or curse while I was asleep, and I didn't complain about the blue in the sky last night. It was a good time this year, being on here with you guys while the other guys were on the court. I really enjoyed the wonderment that every game created for me; how long could it last? It lasted a long time! Actually the wonderment, in my mind, is still there.

Deja Vu....
Now I'm experiencing the exact same feelings that I had when I and my fellow guys & gals WU Cheerleaders accompanied the Shockers to the N.I.T in 1954 and watched them lose to Bowling Green 88 - 84. It sucked then, and it sucks now. But I'm still full of pride that WSU had one helluva season, and came within one bucket of taking out UK and moving on to the next round. Even though I'm in KC, I'm glad to hear about how the folks in my home town of Wichita are reacting to the Shockers. They have everything to be proud of, and theShocker squad does also.GO SHOCKERS IN 2015!Shocker Alum

Gotta be honest, feeling pretty awful today.
Saw Maggie on television for the first time. That's going to leave a mark with me for a long, long time. I think I met Lynn, Maggie and Kellen before I met Gregg. That hurts. Said goodbye to Chris and Sheri. Friends gone. That hurts.
For the first time in a long time, I'm not looking forward to next year. Lot of people I have really cared about the last few years that aren't coming back.
Today, at least, sucks and it sucks bad.
