I wonder how some of these kids view their one and done days. Is it like the thoughts of our guys or is it "I improved my stats and draft status". As Shoxmvc put it so well I too am proud to be associated with our student athletes and the many staffs that represent our University.

Again, the postgame reaction from both teams were superb. As Paul Suellentrop noted the shocker locker room wasn't particularly down after the game because they knew that they left everything they had out there on the floor and that's all you can ask as a player, coach, and fanbase.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

You know, one of the greatest coaches of all time, John Wooden, after much consideration, came up with his own definition of success. It wasn't really about how many games you won (although he won plenty), nor about how many championships (although he won plenty), nor about how many players you sent to the NBA (he had plenty of those too.) No, he defined success as:

Peace of mind through knowing you did the best of which you are capable of.

By this standard, I have no doubt every man on this year's Shocker team has that peace of mind. I have no doubt Coach Gregg Marshall has that peace of mind. So, by extension, us fans should rest with that peace of mind also.

That's funny. I actually met Jim Stafford a year or so after that song was on the radio. I think I was 12 or 13 at the time. I think of it every time someone uses that metaphor here.

I was surprisingly not that down after the game. Disappointed, yes. I think the fact that we went out after having played such a great game greatly softened the blow.

Similar feel here. A little heartbroken, but not at all frustrated or down on anyone.

Nothing wrong with losing to a good team when you both bring your A game.
