@Shockerv:oice: The end - never been more proud of a Shocker team, never had more affection or respect for who they are. Hate it they have played last game

Creighton is done until their fans can sit back and take an honest look at where their program is. It's amazing to me they haven't been able to do so already.

Greg McDermott is not a good coach. He's not a good recruiter. He's not a good game-manager. It's pretty easy to imagine what Creighton would have looked like over the last four years without Doug, and it isn't pretty.

This was the most tailor-made season I've ever seen for ANY team to have "The Year." Senior-studded lineup, experienced, the national player of the year (with the Coach essentially paying his tuition so they could squeeze an extra senior onto the team) ... and they lost by 30 to an average Big 12 team. Next year they lose four of their top five scorers, and are going to have a coach that has at no point shown any ability to create a team that can win in the postseason return with another six years on his contract, with a far more difficult schedule lined up over the next few years.

Regardless of lingering-rival-resentment against them, Creighton is a program that is very well supported by its fans. They are a program that can and should be very good in the Big East. They will not be good with Greg McDermott as the coach or with the style of basketball they utilize. Until their program changes their defensive mindset, there is a ceiling on their program. Creighton fans are going to be hit very, very hard by this coming season.

Anywho ... I do look forward to seeing Doug in the NBA. Good luck to him.

Maybe 10 years from now (or 20, or whatever) I can stop hating on CU and just not care like I don't care about a team like Miami of Ohio. But as long as they have this current administration I'll probably carry on the hate for their holier than thou 'tude.

No meltdown here. Everyone who saw the way UK fans and players reacted to this win knows it was the first time Kentucky's program felt afraid of WSU. Many told us on the way out they were impressed. That wasn't a victory on the scoreboard, but it was a victory of respect.

This was one heck of a season. No team is going to go 35-0 and get it's first loss in game 36 in a long time if ever. Only two teams can finish the season with as many wins as WSU. The history of those 35 wins cannot ever be taken away. I was more upset with last years loss than I am with this one. WSU is going to be a Top Program for years to come. And to make the day a little better both Kansas and Creighton lost today. Not only did sCUm lose but they got ran out of the building. I look forward to keeping up with Shockernet during the off season.

Rosewood, I felt the same way especially when their attitude about scheduling us was meh at best. The attitude of some of their fans and what appeared to be the attitude of the athletic dept also really pissed me off. After watching the best team sCUm has put together ever and got a decent seed get a beat down of epic proportions I now see that their program is to be pitied unless they pull a UK and have 5 one and dones in the wings.

I wonder if Doug (and he really seems to be a good kid) would be willing to trade a run to the final four for the mo valley championships they won last year like he was quoted as saying?

The only reason one should be in meltdown mode today is because there will not be a discount at TADs tomorrow.

I loved listening to Bilas tonight....best game of the tournament easily...if anyone does not think WSU was a number one seed, not paying attention...

the real basketball guys get it...VERY special group...and Marshall classy in his presser...as was Calipari...."elite 8 game"

I did in fact have a melt down after the final buzzer. After the initial shock of knowing I won't watch this group again together on the court, my melt came in the form of my retrospect of a special group of players, coaches, managers, fans, etc...

I am forever grateful for being impacted by a program that is now where not many "non" power-six conference programs have been before. It is ironic that sometimes it takes a heart-breaking loss like today for those outside our "circle" to finally get that our program is for real and has sustainability. It's sustainable because of the vision and leadership of Gregg Marshall. He does things the right way and the proof is in the pudding of those that graduate from this program and continue to be engaged in the current moment.

I love the character of all the pieces to this puzzle. I am proud to cheer for such honorable young men 36 times this year. It took me till now to compose myself to comment on how I feel about this group of great people. I will wake up tomorrow morning with a big fat smile on my face knowing that the integrity of the sports team I passionately root for is second to none.

I also hope as a fan board we can also come together as a family, although dysfunctional at times, to also act with honor, integrity and class as we communicate our great memories over the next few days and weeks. Remember, we are all human beings with feelings, opinions and pride (although stubborn at times). Let's burry some hatchets, and represent our fan board like our players, coaches and managers do...with respect, honor and integrity.

                        As Ref says...that's all!!!

I can't say enough about how proud I am of our basketball team and proud to be an alumni of Wichita State. Like I said at the end of last season, we are building something here, something big, something that will last and we are seeing the fruits of those efforts this season. There should be no question in the minds of those who have doubted the Shockers. If there is any doubt, you're simply being disingenuous and denying the undeniable truth - the Shockers are an elite team and they are here to stay. Thank you boys for a great season and we love you and look forward to next year. GO SHOX!

We may have to add another on-campus dorm in the near future.

I discourage you from looking at any post on Twitter, Facebook, etc. from ESPN (or any major outlet probably) about WSU.

The comments are overflowing with trolls, deltabravos, and idiots.

As you can see, I made the mistake of doing this.
