  • Hoping for Florida, Arizona, Mich St, and Kentucky cause I've got the first 3 in my bracket's final four and then UK cause it would screw up a lot of people in my pool and I'd prefer to see WSU lose to at least a final four team

    • The Big 12 doesn't look nearly as strong now as it did a couple of weeks ago.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

But I thought that they were all battle tested. Or does that not really mean anything? :)

        • I doubt that Cauley-Stein will play against Michigan. I think UK can beat them without him, but if he does not come back at all, any loss UK may have will be looked at as UK not being full strength. I understand the thinking of wanting the "WSU lost to the eventual champion" idea, but I don't feel compelled to care if UK loses, particularly given the injury caveat. Personally, I didn't need any UK victories anyway.

On the other hand: If Cauley-Stein does not come back and play at all and UK wins the championship, I will hate that UK won, but have a smile that WSU would be the only team that would have lost to them by one bucket and with UK at full strength.

I'm thinking Florida, UConn, Wisconsin, Michigan.

But I want Dayton, UConn, Arizona, Kentucky.
Wisconsin is just a better Creighton. Same with Michigan. Neither can stop anybody, but both can outshoot people. I don't think either is a favorite to win their next game; eventually they'll find themselves in a game where they'll need a defense they don't have.

In watching a few of the Big-12 games this year...they never really looked that good to me.

              • I was flipping through the channels and CBS has a basketball game being played at Evansville right now. I saw the EVANSVILLE on the court and thought what the heck? Turns out it is the Div.2 national championship game. They are playing it at Evansville, go figure.

Wait a minute here AZ Shocker. Have you not been informed that a team like WSU would be lucky to end up in the middle of the pack in the mighty Big 12? Now Baylor looked okay at the end of the Season when it counts the most as did Iowa State. However, before the Season started, did we not hear this rumor that WSU played Baylor in a scrimmage and pounded them? Naaa. That must have been crazy talk. Didn't Brigham Young beat Texas and then we beat Brigham Young the next night in the same Tourney? How many teams from the Big 12 played in the Final 4 last Season? I guess your barometer is accurate as can be because 35-1 is awesome and we made History.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

                  • More PROOF that WSU got a bad deal with the brackets.

UK is a 2 point favorite over the #2 SEED Michigan. Yup, UK was definately an 8 seed. Maybe those models showing SOS actually mean more than a group opinion of Peabody's and brainiards. Dorks.

According to ESPN BPI which rates the teams Kentucky was a #3 seed and Michigan was a #6 seed going into the NCAA tournament. Very interesting considering Kentucky had all those losses including a couple to Arkansas and 1 to South Carolina. They did have some close losses to Florida, Michigan State, Baylor and North Carolina which helps a great deal in the BPI.

                          • What did KenPom and BPI have to say about Oklahoma before the NCAA's? Cause the eye test told me they were pretty bad and their resume wasn't particularly impressive (1 W vs IA St and beating up on Big 12 bottomfeeders). I was honestly most surprised by their seeding as a 5 than pretty much any other seed besides UK. Actually thought you could've justified switching those two possibly

But WSU would have had been all but assured a win then.
