You know, I really never gave Gottlieb a second thought until I started hanging around here more often :D Now his voice is approaching "nails on a chalkboard" the more I hear him. Xavier Thames is a helluva player and fun to watch, but Goatlube's verbal fellatio for him is getting old fast. Watching the two NDSU games, I think they've spent at least 15-20 minutes carrying on and on about what a super farmboy Marshall Bjorkland is. Then Dougie goes right back to blowing Thames.

I'm not biased enough to attempt to downplay what Thames is doing though. Kid can straight up play. SDSU has 55 points and he has 30 of them. Hard not to be impressed by the kid; it just sucks to see it happen against one of your teams. And having to listen to this particular announcer's voice never helps things :D

St. Louis, lest we forget, earned a 5 seed, and then managed to win their first tournament game, unlike all the other 5 seeds. Today they are going to lose by 12 to a under-seeded 4 that most are picking to the Final Four. St. Louis has struggled of late, but pretending that their struggles are worse than what 80% of the field has gone through isn't being very fair.
If Pitt is going to be called garbage over and over, St. Louis deserves the same description.

Funny. We never heard all of this BS during the season and on Selection Sunday. We didn't even hear it on Thursday when SLU was getting taken to the woodshed by NC State.
But now that the Stat Geek actually sat down and watched a basketball game, a singular one, against one of the best defensive teams in the country, now the SLU garbage is being tossed out.
He must really be butthurt about the Pitt Garbage getting thrown out today. He was so fiery on Thursday but got SHUT DOWN today. Poor sap.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

It might just be my opinion, but I think there is quite a bit to back it up. KenPom had them at 34 (equivalent to a 9 seed) entering the tourney and has them at 35 following today's loss. All I'm really saying is that St. Louis was grossly overrated when they were ranked #10 in the country and we were all touting them as a really good team. I think they are obviously a non-top 25 team, and top 5 teams (WSU) shouldn't really be touting wins over non-top 25 teams as something spectacular.

I thought St Loo got hosed
