I wish people would stop saying that the "NCAA" did this. My understanding is that the committee is made up of athletic directors with oversight from the NCAA. Furthermore, there are more non-BCS ADs in the group. For that particular conspiracy to be correct you'd have to accept two realities:
1. That the non-BCS ADs are out to screw their own "kind".
2. That this group of diverse ADs, as a group, care enough about a few extra dollars going to an organization they probably don't care much for, to collude and conspire against member institutions.
Keep in mind, some of those non-BCS AD's stand to gain from having non-power conference schools, if within their conference, doing well.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the TV ratings for our games in the tourney last year among the highest?
