Also I like the line at the end. There are a lot of great coaches and a lot of coaches who had great years. They deserve praise.

None of them had a perfect year.

        Advantage Marshall

Does this mean he gets the 50k bonus?

I don't think so. I imagine it is tied to the Henry Iba COY award for which he is a finalist.

Contract says, $25,000 for MVC COY AND

$50,000 for National Association of Basketball Coaches and/or Associated Press COY.

So far this year, it looks like 3G has secured the following incentive bonuses:

$35,000 APR rate of .930 (assume this is true)
                  $35,000 for 20+ win season
$25,000 for fulfilling MVC non-conference scheduling policy (is there such a policy this year?)
$18,000 for MVC regular season title
                  $18,000 for MVC Tournament title
                  $36,000 for NCAA torunament appearance
                  $25,000 for MVC COY

                  Total to date, $192,000.

I was watching the SDSU vs UNLV game the night before we left for Arch Madness. Much to my dismay, He-who-must-not-be-named was one of the color analysts. My knee jerk reaction was to turn the channel when I heard his slimy smug voice. But I waned to watch the game so I dealt with it. As time was winding down the other color analyst started to tout Steve Fischer as national coach of the year. When He-who-must-not-be-named joined the conversation he listed off a few reasonable sounding names like the Virginia coach etc (GGG was not mentioned by Voldy) before dropping this pearl upon the viewers. He honestly believes that Scott Drew belongs in the conversation for national coach of the year. I L'd my effing A off.

Gregg Marshall is the national coach of the year. And it isn't even close.
