There is a certain place of elitism at certain colleges and in certain towns. In 2006 when we were in greensboro at the tourney, Duke fans of who knows what age would not get of of us for standing then they found a security person and literally made us all sit down during our game that they were not playing in.
Why are some schools so much more arrogant than others.... Louisville fans vs. Ohio State fans.... I wonder if Lousiville fans would be like that if we had won...
I personally know a Louisville fan that's insufferable. I think that they would have been just as bad if we won. I got the feeling that they took it easy on us because they were well aware of the couple of questionable calls at the end of the game, and most were smart enough not to press their luck.

They will be sent into oblivion without CU and WSU!
Amen! The Valley's become a joke of a league. If it weren't for us it might equal the horizon. Green Bay and Cleveland State both have better RPIs than ISUb.
It's time to stop being the smartest dumb kid and move on. Anyone who's been consistently good with our kind of support has moved on. Louisville, Cincinnati, Tulsa, now sCUm.
Hopefully we can get into the AAC, otherwise we're stuck in this dump.
*EDIT. BPI not RPI.

The only call I can remember not liking was the one that took Odum out of the game when Baker basically lost control and fell down. We would have still won the game without that call, so it doesn't matter, but I can just hear their fans saying that was the call that gave the game to us.
I just think that since it was his last Arch Madness, and he was bound to receive a big ovation later, it might have been nice if he had been in the game a little more down the stretch.
On the other hand, does anyone else remember that insane call where a guy tackles Tekele Cotton (which is always a dangerous move if you value your own safety), rips the ball away and throws it out of bounds? oh yeah, and the refs gave that ball to Indiana State. It was hilariously bad. Much worse of a call in Indiana State's favor than a handful of 50/50 foul calls that went our way. Games have a way of evening out, and I wouldn't say this game was too lopsided when all is said and done.
By the same token Tekele got called for a foul when it appeared odum tripped over his own two feet as well. Also, when Odum came back into the game he nearly took off Baker's arms on an inbound pay and we didn't get the call. Overall,I thought the officiating was very good as I didn't notice the officials much and they didn't have an impact on the outcome of the game.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....
.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.
The beginning of the game was an absolute hack fest by ISUb. The refs did not control all the early hand checking, holding and pushing. I believe that eventually caused them to have to tighten up a lot toward the end (coaches and players were bitching like crazy). Take the cheap hacks away from an inferior team that is tired and it will look lopsided. Which it was other than a bunch of threes they drained to keep them in the game during their feminine Hail Mary strategy with 4 minutes to go.
Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
The one call I laughed at was when Odum went the length of the court at full speed, completely out of control and tripped in the lane. There were a couple guys around him (maybe Ron and Tekele) but it did not appear as if anyone had even touched him, he was so out of control. Of course the guy behind me thought it was a great call.
My favorite part of the game was after they had fouled Tekele a couple of times intentionally to stop the clock, knowing he wasn't quite as good of a FT shooter as Fred, Ron, and Cle. Then Fred kept the ball with Odum right in front of him, and I could almost hear him taunting, "C'mon, Jake. You know you have to foul me! The team has no chance if you don't foul right now! C'mon Jake! DO IT FOR THE TEAM!!" Then he blew right past 4-Foul-Jake and laid it in.
That said, Odum is a warrior and totally worthy of the ovation, even if he has a little Manu Ginobli in him.

I said this a while back, but if WSU gets out of the MVC, that will be one less at large bid for someone. The MVC will still get their auto-bid and we'll either get an auto-bid in a new league or an at large bid assuming we still have a decent team.

Yeah that was a bad call. Ron just lost his balance and Odum got called for it. Lame call.

I yelled out "that call violates the laws of physics"
I kept standing and cheering when WSU was running ISUb off the court and forcing Lansing to take timeouts. One of the Sycamore dance team members who had been booing what were actually good calls and saying this brand new genius phrase of "Wichita isn't a state" turns to me and says "why are you even sitting over here?" so I turn to her and say "Well cause I'm a paying customer who bought this ticket." I never did hear another single negative word about me or the Shockers from her or her teammates that game
At the game yesterday I was sitting between a few people wearing Valley clothing. Hey! So there are people that buy that stuff.
Anyways, they were quite annoying. I know most Shocker fans were standing for defense but they were butthurt about that. "That's ok at home..." to which I said "Looks like a home game to me."
But they were having discussions after Odum had a stretch of not getting the call. Their theory is that WSU will get "all" the calls because the refs want to be able to say "I worked their 34-0 game" etc.
So if the damn tshirts weren't a sign that the Valley office does not respect us then there is that. To tie it all up one of them even made a 1.9 crack.
But for some reason they all left at about the 4 minute mark. Gee I wonder why.
