This is my favorite weekend of the year. Heading out from Wichita sometime Thursday to meet two friends from Chicago in St Louis. I think this is our 10th year. It's about damn time we win this thing.

I hope the shockers get a fight from each team they play. I hope everyone stays healthy.

Heading down to Arch Madness for the 1st time from Northwest IL early Friday morning. 5 hour trip so the Friday pep rally isn't looking likely, but there will be 5 of us in our car and meeting up with a few old friends from Wichita. Can't wait!

Anyone else worried that a bunch of shocker fans will go to Arch Madness but not go back to St. Louis in two weeks? I have a lot of friends that fit that billing. Im thinking we may have like 6,500 fans there this weekend but only like 5,000 fans there for the NCAA tourney. Am I underestimating our fan base? Im worried KU will snag 8,500ish tix for St. Louis...

If WSU is able to send 5,000 fans to an NCAA tournament site for a WSU game, I wouldn't worry about it. Shocker fans will own it loud and proud.

I'll be there for both. If I can do it, almost anyone can. It helps that STL is a Friday-Sun deal. You only really need to take 1 day off.

I can see that. Budget plays alot into mind. Even though the game is in the same location the pricing is quite a bit significant. From a personal standpoint. I'm looking at half of my family attending Arch Madness while the other half are talking NCAA's. Works out great for me as I plan on tagging along with them both. I can also see all the closet KU lovers holding out for the NCAA's if they are only doing one trip in hopes of seeing both teams.

If they had a family 4 pack for $60 for the NCAA's like they do for Arch Madness then I'm sure my family would buy it in a heartbeat, but unfortunately that is not the case...

As this trip approaches and I am giddy with anticipation as I am every year, I am saddened that Creighton will not be there. I didn't think I would be, but dang, that is a huge vacuum. Oh well.

The Shocktoberfest crew includes wife and 3 kids. We always do 1. Hodaks 2. City Museum 3. Fitz's and 4. Culver's

Every year I encourage anyone who has not checked out the City Museum, get over there. It's only about 7 or 8 blocks North of the Scottrade Center. Very cool. Especially for kids. I won't bother trying to describe it. http://www.citymuseum.org/site/

Are there any other restaurant recommendations anyone has that would be good for kids in the 8 to 12 range?

See you all there! Truly a magical season that keeps getting better and better. I expect nothing to change this weekend.

Does anyone know if the university brings any kind of merchandise to Arch Madness either at the Scottrade Center or at the pep rally? I've been looking for a new Shocker baseball hat "flying W hat" but none of the sports stores up here in IL have them (or any WSU merchandise) and $36 plus shipping/handling seems a bit ridiculous to pay online for one

Four in our group, leaving from Overland Park Friday morning. Staying at the Pear Tree, looks like we will be well represented at that fine hotel. We also have tickets to the St. Louis regional, so hope to see many of you in two weeks.

Mrs. Sum and myself will be rolling in Friday morning. Fourth time for us. At the Pear Tree this time. Want the Shocks to send Jake Odum home as disappointed as he made us his freshman year.

When and where are pep rallies? Won't be able to make it to Fridays. Rolling in just in time for game.

Joe Bucks was announced to have basement reserved for shocker fans by the alumni association. I need the fish Friday. Was the fish sandwich good?

I'm thinking that if we're in the St Louis regional, there will be a lot of Shocker fans that will go to it that didn't go to the MVC tournament.
