  • St. Louis Roll Call

I know it's early, but I am sure there are many making the journey. Share tidbits, questions, experiences for those of us that are new or simply want to try something new.

The 'hut and a golf buddy are heading to KC to scout the Thursday night games while enjoying the Plaza. Up early on Friday to be in place for the Shockers. Staying at the Pear Tree and intend on watching all of the games. Noticed the alumni association mentioned Joe Buck's as their official Shocker hang out, and invited all to pregame pep rallies 2 hours before tip at the Westin. Other than that, looking forward to great basketball, good food and beverage, and curb stopping that St. Louis monkey.

Heading out Thursday around noon, four in the group and we'll be staying at the Westin. Gonna hit Morgan street brewery the first night for their home brew 2.00 pitchers. Looking forward to a good trip in the Lou!

Heading up Thursday afternoon. Two cars, group of about 12 staying at the Hampton. Got our all session passes in the mail last week and I've been pumped since then! Can't wait to see the Lou as a fan for the first time in a long time! Haven't been since 2011 as a member of the band. Excited to just go and sit and enjoy as a fan again.

Mr. and Mrs. ShockBand will pull in Friday morning. Past few times I/we have been staying out in the Chesterfield/Brentwood area and using the Metrolink into downtown. In addition to the Shocker games, we plan on taking in some sights and going to the St. Louis Symphony either Friday or Saturday night, as the Verdi Requiem is the program.

Since late October when my wife and I were told about her cancer returning and told she had 2 weeks to two months to live she has said her long term goal was to make it to the St Louis tournament. Well she is still here albeit she sleeps a lot more and tires very easily but I'll be damned if I am not going to recognize her wish to be in St Louis. We will leave Tursday am and check in at the Westin. I will get her situated and catch a little of both evening games. I will take her to the Pep rallies but she doesn't have the strength to go to the games. So I look forward to seeing you at the rallies. If you see us introduce yourselves and enjoy the moment.

Heading out early Saturday morning for the games that day and the championship on Sunday. Staying at the Crowne Plaza because the Pear Tree Inn screwed up our reservations. We're really looking forward to it because this is the first in many years that we didn't have kids basketball games on Saturday so it won't be as much of a whirlwind.

Mrs 526 and I are heading out Thursday midday. Staying at the Parkway in Central West End... not the newest place, but great restaurants and metrolink are nearby. Will be in the student section so attending just the Shox games. I suspect the line for student tickets will be much longer than in prior years, so we'll probably be at the arena 2 hours before tip. If someone can video the pep rally and post it would be much appreciated!

@pogo: Your story is inspiring. I hope someone with connections to the team passes it along to them and they have an opportunity to meet and recognize such great fans. May there be many more Shocker victories ahead for you both!

                              STL

As usual, will be attending for the 16th year in a row. Hard to believe I am getting this old.

Coming in Thursday to take in as many games as they will play!
RefChick will again be in attendance and staying at the PearTree (we like the nice breakfast and secured parking).

Zia's is an absolute yearly ritual and so is Hodaks. Ted Drewes is on the must do list too this year. Will get to Pappy's BBQ, if the line doesn't stretch all the way to the river.

Sorry to hear Pin will not make it this year. His karoke talent is almost as entertaining as watching the games!

Will be on the look out for Pogo - admire the dedication and commitment!

                              That is all.
Above all, make the right call.
