As far as MSU leaving for the Sun Belt, that's what our boards say as well......lots of mixed emotions for that. I think that people in our fan base were upset with Creighton leaving the MVC, and were not impressed with Loyola (although they beat us like a red headed step child) and I honestly would think that WSU is done with the MVC after this year, I feel if WSU left that would be a huge hit for the MVC, but I don't see the Sun Belt as a big upgrade, if at all. The main problem we have at MSU is we have this amazing arena, our crowd count is horrible, we pay our coaches bottom $$, basically I think our coach is doing a respectable job, but any turn around takes time, and the fan base is not patient. It's amazing in the last few years in college sports how many programs are just jumping from league to league and playing Russian roulette with there programs, in life now a days we are living in an instant gratification time and that is a detriment to stability for the long term. Anyway, congrats on you're success, I hope that both MSU and WSUnstay in the Valley, but I think after this year WSU has outgrown the league

I'd like to point out that group of Bear fans (top of 123 I think?) were great great fans. In the midst of history, in a borderline impossible situation, the group remained positive and cheered on their group with dedication and passion that is rarely seen these days, especially in the face of what turned out to be an early knockout blow. Many great fan bases would have packed it in....you all are too be commended for the continued support.. Very well done.

A clear sign they have no intention of truly committing to winning basketball, instead trying to follow the football fallacy. Perhaps an exit from the MVC is best for everyone involved.

Goodness, and to think I am embarrassed when I see the letters "MVC" next to our name. Can't imagine how much the humiliation would grow being associated with the freaking "Sun Belt." All so you can become the non-con cupcakes for the Bill Snyders of the college football world. What a trade off!

I take the "news" with a grain of salt at this point--however, let's entertain this rumor for the sake of speculation. If it happens, WSU becomes a major geographic outlier (more than it really already is) in the Valley. Does the A-10 or the AAC really seem that much more of a stretch geographically, with St. Lewis and Tulsa, respectively, closer than Des Moines and, well, most of Illinois?

I would like to echo Doc on the MUS fans. The MSU fans (mostly students I believe) were directly behind us about 5 rows. They were very organized, took a lot of banter from a few WSU fans and never once did I hear anything negative from them. Major major kudos to them for staying into the game and being respectful all at the same time. I was very impressed.

Yeah, so the Valley can add Western Illinois.

The only negative thing that I heard from the MSU crowd was directed at there own team. Did anyone else hear someone for one of the groups around section 118 scream "You suck, Scheer" right after he fouled somebody?

I heard that from the top of 108. I assumed it was one of our students.

Nope. It sounded like it came straight out of one of their groups. I'm at the top of 114 and there's no way that it came from our students. It was too far away. Not that I had a problem with it, but it did strike me as odd.
