Baker will be on the 1st team. The devate was the 5th player if we get 4.

I dont see us getting four. How FAIR would that be? 80% of the top 5 players on one team? That would be like telling the world the Valley REALLY sucks. Elgie wont let that happen.

Also, i dont know how many MILES Balentine runs every game to get his shots, but it is FAR more impressive that his percentage is even close to what it is considering how fat that is.

And screw you for making me defend an Evill player.

We will get 2, possibly 3.

        I don't expect more than 2 on 1st team but hoping for 4 on 1st or 2nd.

BTW we should have two on the all defensive team. Baker will get snubbed on that team just like Cotton did last year.

If I remember correctly, and I'll admit I might not be, Mo Evans wasn't 1st team All Valley. His team was bad. Mo was a better player than DJ Ballentine by a factor of near 10.

I believe the rest of the Valley sees what's going on. I'm certain Cle and Fred are 1st team, I'd wager a LARGE amount of money that Baker is, and I'd take evens and roll a die that Cotton makes it, although 2nd team and DPOY is equally possible.

If not for this history making season, Barry is the COY.

No doubt. Baker has been a stud on D. Who makes that team? Cotton's a lock. I think Washspin too is a lock. Probably Lemonade too. How about Lynch for ISU? Odum? Our 3 headed monster inside was without question the best defensive big in the conference, by far, but you can't give it to all 3.

Lynch and Mock foul too much to be truly effective on D but I bet one of those two makes the team. Lufile deserves serious consideration because he's been good guarding players that should be matchup problems for someone his size like Gulley and the kid from NC Central.

Coleby doesn't deserve All-Defensive team, but he has played MUCH better the last half of the conference slate. I know he had a toe injury (possibly other nagging injuries as well) and really had poorly timed jumps that lacked explosiveness. He is so much more effective now.

After FVV, Cle and Ron, I'd put Mock (the best true center in the league, followed by Tuttle) and either Odum or Beane, with Desmar Jackson getting consideration. Guys like Balentine and Lemon, or at least the way they are being used, actually hurt their teams.

Per 40 min stats for the four best posts in the league (all returning next year, and in no particular order):

                        1) Mock - 17 points, 14 boards, 3 blocks, 6 fouls
                        2) Lynch - 16 points, 9 boards, 4 blocks, 7 fouls
                        3) Tuttle - 21 points, 9 boards, 1 block, 3 fouls
                        4) Carter - 18 points, 10 boards, 2 blocks, 5 fouls

Carter is right in the middle of the discussion for first team All-Valley had he played a few more minutes.

Those are revealing numbers. I just think Carter won't even be in the conversation due to FVV, Cle, Ron, Tekele. Lynch looks more favorable in that breatkdown than I would have guessed. I think if Simmons would stop focusing his offensive scheme on Balentine, Mock would probably score close to that per-40 number.

Carl Hall played 28.6 mpg last year. Darius Carter played 18.5 mpg this year. Their per 40 numbers are:

                            17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.7 steals, 2.4 blocks, 1.8 turn overs, 54% FG, 67% FT

                            18.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.7 steals, 2.0 blocks, 1.1 turn overs, 54% FG, 66% FT

That's pretty similar!!! Carter was the second one btw. His 4.8 PF per 40 versus Hall's 3.2 PF per 40 probably explains a lot of the difference in time as well.

I don't see four. Three is highly unlikely. If you look at the 78-79 Indy State team, they had two on the first team and zero second team and they won the valley by five games. The 85-86 Bradley team won the valley by six games and got two on the first and one on the second team. The 03-04 SIU team won the valley by five games and only got one on both the first and second teams.

But, Indiana State had Larry Legend…he was that team. SIU wasn't NEARLY as good that year as we have been this year.
