It is the reason WSU had the most difficult path to the Final Four since KenPom has been tracking such numbers, last year.
This reminds me of a friend I had who went to KU and used to actually brag that he struggled in college more than I did. He said it was because KU was much more prestigious so it was harder to get good grades at KU than it would have been for me at WSU...

Just like basketball this year. Funny how that is.

And when you break it down, there isn't that much of a difference in the #1 and #2 seed.
Yikes, no thanks!! I'll take the hard earned recognition our team deserves; nothing short of #1 seed will suffice.

I had a friend who went to K-State say something similar. I took the low road and told him how much I made, knowing full well that he made about 1/4 of that while doing similar work. The sad look on his face was burned into my brain and will forever be a pick me up when works got me down.

What you get out of an undergrad degree is more a function of what you put into it, not the place you attend. Grad school, that is the place to "buy" the name for your pedigree, if at all possible, but not necessary. My two undergrad degrees from WSU were great learning experiences, as were my one grad degree from the University of South Florida (GREAT primary professor to work with and for) and even my other grad degree, an online one through Pitt State, was a quite good learning experience in its own way.

Elitist silver spooners look at the name, those of who didn't have things handed to us on a silver platter look at the bloodshot eyes, calloused hands, and tired brains from working to EARN our way in this big, wide world.

Yeah, because calculus in lawrence is far more difficult than it is in Wichita.

Are you serious? I personally think this is ignorant. First, our guys will have plenty of internal and external motivation being a 1. I can all but guarantee, within an hour and a half after being given a 1 seed, we'll hear some jackass saying we're gonna get bounced early or don't deserve a 1 seed, that is more than enough external motivation for our guys. Second, how would that affect Gregg? You go 34-0, tying the longest streak in college basketball history for a single season, and the best we get is a 2? Please don't let us be Winthrop with a ceiling.

I don't know, maybe calc is harder when you're self-flagellating.

It won't take an hour and a half. They'll likely have Dougie on the selection show to stir **** up immediately since Billy Packer isn't around anymore.

Exactly... and like @ShockBand: said, undergrads are almost identical everywhere with a few exceptions. We all use the same textbooks and business and math concepts don't change based on which D-1 state school you went to.

Absolutely not. If we cannot get a #1 seed with an undefeated record, it is the ultimate example of conference bias. I for one refuse to believe that a team should be judged solely by those they play against. Losing that #1 seed isn't bad just for the 2013 Shockers, it is bad for every future team outside the B1G, Big 12, Pac 12, ACC, and SEC. It is bad for our Shockers in 2014. It is bad for VCU, Gonzaga, and even for teams from the MWC, Big East, and AAC. It means that teams that don't aren't from the right conferences need not apply.

It is bullshit. Teams earn a one seed by their play. They aren't given it because they happen to be the best team in the "right" conference. Did Indiana State deserve a #2 seed in 1979 just because they happened to beat up a weak MVC? Did Houston deserve a #2 in 1983 because the SWC wasn't quite good enough? What about UNLV out of the Big West? Temple and UMass in the A10? Memphis from CUSA?

If we get a #2 seed, it will be a disappointment not only for us, but for every team in the future from the "wrong" conferences. BCS teams want to believe teams like that cannot exist, and want to discredit them by taking away their accomplishments and making the road to a title more difficult. We can't let that happen. If we cannot get a #1 seed with the best start and regular season in NCAA history, the bar will be set too high for any other team outside the power conferences to ever have a shot.

Have you ever tried studying at The Hawk? It's hard! Plus you can never get a good table with enough room for all your books in the Boom-Boom Room...

Look at GMs comments all year. How many times has he said something about the term "mid-major", other "elite teams", or not getting the respect they deserve for winning in the Valley? Countless. It is more than obvious that GM and the team feed off all disrespect in the media. They want to prove everyone wrong. Shut everyone up. Being given a #2 seed when they deserve a #1 seed would just add more fuel to their fire IMO, but apparently my opinion is "ignorant" lol.
