Anthony Beane averaging 23.7 PPG over his last 4 games. Who will Tekele guard? Beane or Desmar Jackson. One or both of these guys needs to be Sanforized by Cotton.

My guess is that Tekele will draw Jackson and Ron will have primary responsibility for Beane. Although I could see 3G starting with FVV on Beane and watch how it goes.

The match-up problem for SIU should be with Cleanthony and our 3-headed 5 man.

SIU is just the type of team to pull off this kind of a monster upset. Young players that don't know they can't win, playing well, with confidence and an outstanding coach that knows how to win and will not be intimidated.

All hands on deck. The timing here makes this game as important a home game as there's been in many a season.

Don't take this personal, but have you been hanging out with KC lately? You made an odd, non-winning type of post the other night right before the UNI game and then this...just sayin.

Doc shares my apprehension about ALL the upcoming games. The only thing these teams have to play for is what seed they will have in St. Louis. Some don't have anything to lose so they will be playing loose. St. John's plan last night with Creighton was to pretty much let Dougie have his points and try to neutralize the rest of the scorers -- and it worked. Doug scored, I believe, 25 in the loss. Every game from here on out through the MVC Tournament will be am anxiety attach for me until we are up 20 with 2 minutes left in the game.

'should be, considering wichita state still has evansville, loyola and bradley on the road. nothing to take lightly at all, in spite of the percentages we keep hearing about.

oh, yeah, and siu at koch. siu really personally challenged the shockers at koch last year.

Not sure what @WuDrWu: said that could be construed as "non-winning" (= losing). I took it that he was just saying be careful and don't sleep on these guys because if you do they can bite you. A viewpoint I happen to agree with. That said I don't think the Shocks will take this game for granted and should bring SIU back to earth if that is the case.

Non-winning might not have been the correct descriptor, but he sounded apprehensive about a positive outcome.

Nothing wrong with that is there? I am apprehensive before every game, not that my apprehension has any impact on the outcome of any games. One good thing about this Shocker team is I don't think they have taken anyone lightly this year.

Not taking it personal at all. I had a bad feeling about the UNI game. THRILLED it was just me and goes to show what I know. I don't have a bad feeling at all about tomorrow, it's just a VERY important game. Our guys have proven time and time again that they are going to show up and battle every game so there's no reason for undo concern.

Winning those 2 road games last week was indeed quite an accomplishment. Not many teams would pull that off and it was indeed a relief that our road warriors again found ways to win. I too feel good about Tuesdays game even thou SIU has been hot of late.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

The team knows what they have to do and they certainly know by know how to get done.

                        Socks by 15.

I think this one goes the way many have recently. This SIU team will come out pumped and bring more energy than the Shox. It will be quite the battle early with the SHOX falling behind by 7 and then fightin back to tie at half 34-34.

2nd half the boys pick up the intensity and go on a 11-2 run to take a permanent lead. The lead hovers around 10 until SIU starts fouling in the final minute. SHOX win by 14.

                          WSU - 73
                          SIU - 59
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

WSU opens as 17 point favorites.

I started getting more fiber in my diet and it helped my "bad" feeling. In fact with my Haines underwear I feel good all under.

Very true, 1972 -- but this one isn't just must win, it's the picture of a trap game, coming back home off two dangerous road tests against a team that's playing much better than a few weeks ago. Danger! Danger!

Fortunately, between the Play Angry team's levelheadedness and sense of purpose, the Coach Angry staff's memory of an experience against SIU not that long ago, and the Cheer Angry crowd's new vigor, things should work out. But I'm still more apprehensive than the records would justify. Keep proving me wrong, Shocks!
