I don't thing Redbirds fans are delusional. I think the have made a rational choice to ignore reality. Perhaps they have done that out of jealousy or perhaps a felling of inferiority. I don't know for sure. I do know that they are not interested in any respect from WSU fans or they would have the integrity to acknowledge some of the transgressions of their program in recent years. They have every right to act like a bunch of idiots and jerks if they so choose. Perhaps their integrity will improve as their program improves. Let's hope both things happen.

Holy crap the posters on the Redbird Message Board are completely delusional. It's hard to believe that they are the same fan base that I used to enjoy talking basketball with less than 5 years ago. Marshall = The Devil in their eyes and nothing he says or does will ever change that.

A reason to avoid public edge is the propensity of sports writers to create controversy from a nit, when there should be none. When controversy exists, there is not any upside for the central figure.

Coach Marshall is the best basketball coach that WSU has ever had and I am extra glad that he is our coach.

I am a big fan of just go recruit, just go coach and just go play. It takes care of most everything else.

I don't necessarily disagree with your point of view, but take away the public edge that is part of 3G's persona and do you have the successful Coach that he is? Maybe, maybe not. His personality is pretty much ingrained at age 50, so it is unlikely he is going to change nor am I sure he should change. You might see some mellowing over the years, but think with Coach Marshal WYSIWYG. Take it or leave it.

I doubt that 3G cares that much one way or the other. If he was their Coach they would love him to death as we well know from experience. Equating Marshall with the Devil is probably one way they justify ignoring the transgressions of their own program or choosing to have an anything goes attitude when it comes to 3G and his teams. It is what it is.

Marshall has some personality flaws. I'm okay with that because some of those flaws are either what makes him successful, or a byproduct of success. I love the guy, not in spite of his flaws, but because of them.
