Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

        • I hate to be the guy in this thread, but after deliberation with other shocker fans down here, I'm going to predict an ISUb win tonight. I was talking with one of our 89' national championship players and he feels this one is as good a chance as there will be for a loss. I asked him about the streak, and he said thinking of it as a former college and pro athlete. he would rather have a loss before the tournament than go in undefeated. He makes sense, mainly because we think along the same lines. The only people a loss would hurt would be us fans; we pay so much attention to the rankings, I think we would be more concerned with a drop of a spot or two than we would be with the loss.

Can't really guess the score, but I would think if there is a loss, it will be around 4 points. I hope I'm wrong.

                • I think we win because everyone thinks this is the most likely loss. The players are expecting a challenge and will be locked in. I still think we will probably lose a game, but it will be one that none of us expect.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

Who is everyone? I am not getting that vibe at all. If anything I get the feeling that the rest of the Valley is being totally dismissed as any threat to the Shock. Dick Vitale all but implied that last night on the Florida-Missouri broadcast. Many fans and talking heads seem to be taking this game too much for granted. The only one predicting a loss so far on Shockernet is @LoneStar48. Otherwise, we have 13 predictions for a single-digit vicitory with an average margin of 5.3 points and 11 predictions of a double digit win by the Shocks with an average spread of 16+ points.

I do think most everyone agrees that this is the team that could most likely defeat the Shocks in the regular season at this point, but the bottom line is that the Shocks are favored to win with the current line at about 4.5 points.

I must admit that Dick Vitale's flippant statement about the Shocks not being challenged over the remainder of the regular season to be rather ignorant. Of course, Vitale is all about hyperbole and very little about substance.

                          • NOT EASY

I think this will be one of those games where every possesion will be very very important. Tight first-half, followed by a tighter second half...the last 8 minutes we will own....72-65, the Good Guys.

                            • Does it get any better than this? Not much. I think tonight could be a real MVC Classic. Indiana State is capable of playing very good basketball on any given night and really, with the exception of the loss at SIU, they are having a damn fine season. A win over the Shocks tonight and a strong finish could elevate that to a great season.

The Shocks are having a great season. A win over the Sycamores tonight and a strong finish could elevate us to a Dream season.

It's difficult not to stress-out but I'm doing my best just trying to enjoy this. And if this does prove to be a Dream season I hope I prove to be Rip Van Winkle.

Careful, everyone (media, fans, etc.) think this is the most likely loss. Not that we will actually lose. Basically I'm saying because it is our toughest remaining game.
