The last 7 minutes of the SLU game sure seemed like a Battle.

The end of the BYU game was a battle.

Coming back against MSU was a battle.

The only issue with that is those games were quite a while ago. The good news is most of our team should remember what it took to get to the final four and what was required of us. Hence why that seems to be a factor for champions, as discussed earlier.

But our recent games have certainly not been testing us (which could also be construed as our team improving).

Regarding the need for a little luck: it's funny how when a favored heavyweight gets beat, the excuse is "so and so just got hot/lucky", or "we played our worst game of the year". When a lesser team loses (ie, Gonzaga last year), it's "we knew they were over rated all along - they just proved they didn't deserve that seed". Not saying Gonzaga was a lesser team, just making an example about the position we'll may see ourselves in this year.

At the end of the day, you have to be playing your best ball at the end of the year and have a game or two where you get everything going your way.

I agree. The double standard is complete BS. Gonzaga was just as good, if not better than OSU, and probably would have given the Cards a tough game, they just didn't do their image any favors by almost losing to Southern.

They didn't do their image any favors by having Gonzaga on their jersey. Nobody hated on KU's terrible first-round performance against Western Kentucky.

1) I would think taking care of the ball would be another important statistic. This is an area I feel we've dramatically improved since last year and a big factor for a our success. Did you see that as an area that factored into the championship teams (lack of turnovers)?

i thought drake played pretty damn inspired at their place (and msu and ilsu etc).

They didn't do their image any favors by having Gonzaga on their jersey. Nobody hated on KU's terrible first-round performance against Western Kentucky.

I don't remember the KU vs WKU game being in doubt with under a minute to go, but then again GU was being put under a microscope by the media so there's that...

I guess you could say we have not been consistently tested for 40 minutes by top teams. We have been tested multiple times for 20 minutes but only a handful of times for 40 minutes.
