I don't think it matters what I think about his comments but frankly, I'm not troubled by them and believe he has shown he knows how to motivate his players and doesn't worry about what any body else thinks about him. But he certainly seems to care what they think about his team. I like it.

Great, now we are talking about this more than MSU fans...
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

I am a WSU graduate, a season ticket holder of over 10 years, my grandpa more than 50 years. My $, though fairly insignificant helped build the program. I dont mind the winning ways of late.
If you have a problem with that, then screw you.
Maybe I miss-read your post. I took it u were tired of this fan base and u were done with this community. If so I apologize.

I heard his comment on the post game with Mike & Bob. I thought "Oh,Coach, please be mindful. I will hear more about this" I do think he should be more aware of the situation, that being said, I like the guy.

While no one cares that much what other schools' fans think, Izzo is a guy Marshall might want to call to ask for a game. WSU hasn't "arrived" yet. We're knocking on the door, but we're still on the outside looking in.

We're nowhere near what Butler did. Now Butler is 10-9 overall and 1-7 in league play.
No offense, but why are we "on the outside looking in"?

Final Four, undefeated, top 5 ranking.

Sounds like we're "in" to me.

I hate to try and steal a line from Coach....but tell me when we get to be "in", just so we're clear about what being "in" is.

Because whatever criteria you come up with, I EFFING PROMISE YOU it won't be enough to satisfy those that don't believe today.

Great point. I know this had been mentioned in this thread but the point of the comment wasn't to take a pot shot at Sparty but most likely at those that keep voting them ahead of us instead. I'm sure Marshall gets tired of having to justify why we deserve to continue moving up and he's made it clear that he doesn't like getting leapfrogged by teams with multiple losses. There is nothing wrong with the point he's trying to make and I certainly appreciate his advocacy for the program. Lord knows we don't have many advocates outside of Wichita right now. Thanks coach for insisting that we really do belong!

I don’t know if any of you have noticed, but I think HCGM has been acting more agitated in general lately. When responding to fans on the radio show (FT shooting anyone?), with Valley calls, or just interviews in general. He just seems angry. Maybe he feels we are being disrespected, but if you are going to take shots at the media, make sure your shot lands clearly on the intended target.

I think HCGM is just starting to get the guys ready for the "Us v. World" mindset that will be needed come March. His fire and passion is the reason our fan base loves him. I have no reason to question the man's decisions at this point.

In my opinion the chip on the shoulder is what makes the team click and keeps them motivated. I am good with this. Too many coaches feed lines of BS all day long. At least our coach will speak his mind. Love it.

This. Lots of pundits say that this team won't be "battle tested" come March due to the conference. You know why teams that walk through their conference get upset in March? It's because they forget what it's like to have focus and intensity for 40 mins. Thus they get caught napping by a good team.

IMHO if we can't be battle tested, what is the next best thing to keep the team focused and hungry every game, all game? Feeling disrespected and having that chip on your shoulder. He is just keeping the team and coaches hungry and focused. This man is amazing at these kind of chess matches.
