MK just Interview Zarko Durisic on the pregame show. He said he was supposed to be in New Orleans but the flight was cancelled. I think he said he was in Oklahoma City. So he came up to Wichita to look at some players. He's director of player personnel for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Also, Loyola starts a pretty tall lineup. 6-4 6-4 6-5 6-9 6-10. So I'm interested to see if they are able to bother us at all with their height. I would guess no, but we'll see. I also hope the play zone for a little bit, possibly even a 2-3 zone if you know what I'm saying.

It did bother us. We played bad, but they made things difficult for the most part.

Here's the deal. The Ramblers just scored 93 points in an overtime victory over the Panthers as their KU transfer Milton Doyle scored 28 points according to the Wichita Eagle. Ya'll scart yet or must we go ahead and win #22 (11+11)? Coach Marshall did say he was not planning on this team scoring that many versus our beloved Shocks! Feel betta? Sleep well tonight because it is harder than pullin hen's teeth for a foe to beat us at 21st and Hillside. I remember many, many moons ago playing Loyola, so here we go again. We win #22 by 11.

Even a blind squirrel finds an occassional acorn on the point spread. The Shocks became victims of our own success with the big lead at various junctures? Dunno, but we are now 22-0 and halfway done in the Valley race at 9-0.

Even so, the 2nd half we were stagnate in terms of execution. The multitude of player combo's seemed to backfire some. We would have a point blank shot inside and instead of using the backboard, we just clanked it off the rim. We waited too deep in the shot clock before attempting to get a shot off rather than attacking when possible as we did in the 1st half. I missed us attacking their offense with dribble penetrations for the easier 'makes' as we did in the 1st half.

What does it all mean? 3G just said we have lots to work on. Even so, we still rebounded, won by 12, and kept fighting. Any time a team can learn lessons but yet still keep winning, then that is a big bonus. We will learn from this win, even if it was ugly from time to time. Now we go back to the drawing board and prepare to beat the purple aces whom need some serious reckoning, I reckon.

And if it was Michigan State visiting our house tonight, we'd of lost by 20. Allowing a 1 - 7 team on the road this year, come into our house and give us a decent game is embarrassing. We are the freakin' 4th ranked team in the nation. Start playing like it. Before tonight, they've only held 4 teams to less than 60 points in a game. We are now the 5th, and this was in our house! It's crap like this that is fodder for all the naysayers out there about us. Hell, LUC went to powerhouse 194 RPI Fordham and they scored 83 points against these guys. WTH!

With the latest run of games I am reminded of the mantra "Don't let the highs get to high or the lows get to low". I suspect the team will show up for the next one, especially since the Shocks have a two game losing streak going into the next game.
