    • I for one am hoping that Creighton finishes very high in the Big East because I think it does open some eyes nationally in what the valley was and can be. Granted this was just one game, but from the looks of it Creighton has a good chance to win that league.Nova was suppose to be a very good defensive team, but I didnt see that, and to think they beat K-who by 5 speaks volumes. Im getting a little tired hearing how K-who has won four games in a row to ranked teams. I really think their are a few over ranked teams in the big 12.

      • That Creighton beat down on the #4 team that happened to jump us in the polls just today was a GREAT cap in the hat to the MVC, Creighton...and of course our Shockers!!! It will be a good thing if Creighton wins the Big East. Will open a whole lot of eyes nationally that the Valley isn't all that bad. I mean...Creighton is I'm assuming playing almost the same players as last year yes???

                • Some of Nova's games are in their 6500-seat on campus arena

More should be, its an intimidating arena.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

                    • Since some of you asked, I have some answers. In Gregg's first 48 games, there were three 20-point losses (Springpatch and NotNormal first season and Frostbite Falls his second year) and a couple double digit home losses. Since the Creighton home win in 2009 (the turning point), the worst loss margin was 15 (done a handful of times, either on the road or at a neutral site).

As for home game losses, there was a 12-point loss to SIU in the 0-6 MVC start in 2009. There was also a 14-point loss to Stanford in the 2009 CBI and last year's 13-point loss to Indiana State. Those were the only double-digit home losses in the 3G era.

I suppose one could argue whether 'Nova or someone like that is better than WSU over the long haul (last night makes that argument really hard for 'Nova), but this you can definitively say:

THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT A GREGG MARSHALL TEAM WOULD LOSE AT HOME BY 28!

Losses happen...even double-digit losses every now and then...but you have to quit to lose by 28, especially at home. Gregg's teams lost those games by 20+ when the team was really bad, not when it was a Top 5 team in the country.
                      78-65

                      • Most coaches have long memories. Nova will remember cretin keeping the starters on the floor long after the game was decided. I don't think they have many new best friends in Philly.

                        • Pogo, I disagree. 34 and 3 both went out with several minutes remaining. Chatman and Brooks remained in the game, but if Jay Wright is going to hard press down 30then that to me is enough of a reason to keep a couple of his best ballhandlers in the game in order to get the ball up the court. Not defending "Daddy McD", or CU and hate them as much as anyone on this board, but I think the problem was much more on the Nova side than anything Creighton did last night.

                          • I stand by my original statements. You think that the game was still in doubt up until the time that Wragge and little Mac were pulled? You and I must have been watching two different games.

                            • Sorry to break this, but when CU won (especially the way they won) it made me think of this:

+1 Also, don't take credit for sitting Wragge. That kid gets gassed more quickly than when I sprint up the stairs at the under 12 because my ManiacsAp updates me with a KrispyKreme like "hotnready" sign for the nachos. And yes, lil' Chewie did come out early, right after 4 straight plays for him getting 3s off (and it was IMPRESSIVE I might add) and getting to his average. He wasn't coming out until that happened, I friggin' promise you.
