Overall I was pleased with how well our defense played for a second game in a row. Not sure that many Valley teams will score more than 60 on us the rest of the year.

Dont think it can be said too many times how special Fred is. And to think, he still has two more years here.

Lofton is a big-time ball hog. They aren't going to win many games when he takes that large of a % of their shots.

Fred hasn't had a turnover in the last 171 minutes and 47 seconds of Shocker basketball thats been played.

I don't know if I've ever enjoyed watching a Shocker team more than this year. They are such a pleasure to watch on both offense and defense.

Baker was the unrecruited kid from small town Kansas that the media loved until he tweaked the ankle and hit a shooting slump. But the Shox stayed undefeated after losing 100% from what many thought was the best player on the roster.

So, how do the Shox stay undefeated with possibly their top player hobbled? Oh, the Shox have this PG who wasn't getting much attention as long as Baker was tearing it up. VanVleet was only (and barely) a top-100 recruit, but now he's in about every conversation about the top PG's in D1.

Throw in Early coming from D3 JuCo ball, and the Shox have a group of unheralded players playing at a very high level. That makes good story lines.

Kentucky signs an entire class of first-round NBA picks. That's going to make some headlines. The Shox sign not a single player considered to have a shot at the NBA when they commit (possibly wrong about Early??), and the Shox are in a position to beat or compete with the "elite" players.

Media and the public loves that story. When Early, VanVleet, and Baker give the media something to hang their hats on, the media is going to show the love. Baker, Early, and VanVleet are going to give the media plenty to work with, so the media love should keep going for a while.

Most on here already know that when you watch the game on Shockervision the audio is the radio broadcast with Mike Kennedy and Dave Dahl. And most know the funny thing is you can hear everything they say during the radio broadcast's commercial breaks; the mic is still "live" for the Shockervision feed. Normally, they are talking about scores around the Valley or trying to decide who their player of the game is. Something like that.

Tonight the radio broadcast cut to commercial right when the game ended and the teams began shaking hands. I guess the handshake between Muller and Marshall was awkward. Both Dahl and Kennedy started dogging Muller for how much of a chickenshit handshake he gave Marshall. It went something like, "Muller didn't even look at Gregg when he shook his hand. He just grabbed it and left. Even Dana looked Gregg in the eyes."

It was hilarious.

Yeah I was watching the feed on ESPN3 (I'm assuming that's the Cox channel feed) and they essentially said the same thing while waiting for Marshall to do the post-game interview.

That oop was awesome. Baker's pass was made from just past half court.

Seeing it develop is tough enough. Making the pass at that distance is almost unheard of. The timing on the pass is incredibly difficult.

Baker's background as a quarterback is the only thing that made that work. Baker made a basketball pass that was the equivalent of hitting a wide receiver cutting across the middle 15 yards down the field, and hitting that guy in full stride with the ball in a position that only the receiver can touch it.

That pass rivals the pass the Davidson player made (against us a few years ago) with less than a second left.
