I didn't notice the bad shot selection. I did notice a lack of elevation, however.

Anyone looking to buy tickets on Stubhub for this game should beware of what looks like 55 fake tickets being listed. There are several listings showing reserved seats in section 117 A. There are no reserved seats in that section. It is all student or GA tickets. They also list something like 18 seats in row 1 of section 117 A. I believe there are no more than 10 seats in row 1 of that section.

I saw that too and wondered what was up. I hope some scalper isn't buying up all our GA and reselling them, I was under the impression the students were picking up all of their allotment so far this season anyways.

Absolutely. I'd much rather play without him now and have him at his strongest in the tournament. Yes, we might lose
a couple but I care more about our ranking at the end than I do now.

Even if that were the case, there is a fraud going on. They are selling them as reserved seats. They are saying that most of them are specific seats in the first row. That is totally false. At best they are GA tickets at worst they are non-existent tickets, which is what I suspect is the case.

Instead of jumping equally off of both feet you tend to put most of your weight during your jump shot on one leg. Disrupts everything.
I think with Baker being a sophmore this can be addressed easily by coaching staff by getting Baker his minutes that we need him to get to win games, and by telling FVV and Carter to step up and shoot more, thereby reducing the number of shots taken by Baker and placing him in more of a hybrid PG role to allow FVV To take some more 3's off screens..etc...

I can see FVV bringing the ball up then dumping it to baker and allowing baker to run the offense. Fred gets more shooting oppurtunities off screens and Baker doesn't feel pressured to create shots. Seems like a win win to me with FVV's recent shooting %'s

Frankly speaking we need baker to create offense, we don't need baker to score any points though.....

It is a 6-8 week deal based upon my experience. In 6-8 weeks, the regular season is almost over.

Maybe play him against the tough teams and otherwise rest him.

I know, I know. This plan is half-@ss.

The game is on WatchESPN in replays. Give it a watch. Ron lacked elevation, sure. But he also threw up some poorer than normal shots, even for him.

I just feel if we really bring it, like we should, we'll win this one by 20+. UNI is gonna try to muck it all up, but I think we're past that crap. If the boys bring it, there is nothing UNI will be able to do to stop it. Perimeter defense needs to be better because UNI's entire offense is about throwing it around for 30 seconds and chucking up 3's.

Can UNI win against a good team without flopping? I've only been watching Top-25 games so far this year except for the Panthers game vs. Bradley. My 9-year-olds South Y team could give Bradley fits so the question remains...has BennyJ taken the flop out of their game plan?

                          Amen.

In hindsight, most of SIU's open threes were off of over-helping on drives...which against SIU is probably going to be a good strategy in general. Against UNI, sans for maybe a few of their players, there is no need to over help because it should take only one player to stop a drive by UNI.

They are quicker at some positions, but I'd take my chances with them shooting contested running BS than over helping and giving up 3's.

An intelligent decision on whether to rest Baker or not cannot be made on the sidelines of a message board. There are too many parameters involved. We have to trust the training and coaching staff to know what to do. The training staff must be monitoring whether the injury is becoming worse or getting better.

I will say that Baker adds to this team in so many ways with his intelligence, experience, toughness, ball handling, etc. It would be nice if he was totally healthy.

Last year we opened up Valley play at home with these soccer players and wiped the floor with them. I expect nothing short of the same this year.

                              Shockers - 88
                              Floppers - 63

I'm sure HCGM has evaluated this from all possible angles. I will trust his judgment.
