Hopefully, the Shocks rediscover their Play Angry defense for this game. Need to take it personally whenever UNI scores.

Baker played more minutes than anyone on a sore ankle. In pregame talk it was revealed that he and the
trainer both acknowledged it was bothering him and he had his second straight sub par performance ( for him ).
Am I the only one that believes we should take our chances without him long enough for it to heal up?
We DON'T need him to secure a tournament bid but we WILL need him healthy to get past the second
        round !

On the coaches show on Monday, HCGM said it would not heal by the end of the year as long as Ron is practicing and playing (paraphrasing). So it doesn't sound like sitting him for a game or two is going to help much. He gave no indication that resting him for a short period of time would make a difference.

EXACTLY my point - it isn't going to heal up practicing and playing. I've had a similar experience. I'd like to see at
least a two week total layoff.

Fortunately, a one-legged Baker is still better than most anything anyone in conference play
will throw at us, but come tourney time, a healthy Ron would be HUGE.

I agree. Just pick a point in the schedule where we play Evan, Loyola, and Bradley close together and let him rest then.

Unfortunately, that time has probably already past. He could have had an 18 day layoff with only light practice the last few days after the Alabama game until the UNI game and had the smallest impact. Now, there will be 5-6 games within that type of time frame with more important games mixed in.

My biggest concern with the ankle is not so much the defense or the cutting, but rather with his shooting. Anyone who has played competitively with a moderately severe ankle sprain knows that your shooting rhythm completely changes with a hurt ankle. Instead of jumping equally off of both feet you tend to put most of your weight during your jump shot on one leg. Disrupts everything.

And that has shown up in the stat sheets recently. Although last night, Ron was uncharacteristically forcing things and taking some really poor shots.

If it still seems to be affecting his performance and shooting following the Jan 11 game at MSU I'd like to see them
sit him until Feb 05 at ISU. Remember, he sat all the MVC schedule last season and returned healthy for our
tournament run. During that span of over three weeks we have six games of which four should be easy wins
without him. Possible losses would be at Drake and Indiana State but only possible losses. I'd rather we rest
him over three weeks and take our chances with those two games. Worked well last year !

Is Fox Sports Midwest the same as Fox Sports 1? If not, then what channel number is it?

Nope. Fox Sports 1 is a newer channel. On Cox, FS1 is on Channel 60. Fox Sports Midwest/KC/whatever is a regional Fox network, which is Channel 34 on Cox. You Dish and DirecTV users can chime in with that info.
