Joe Mitchell was never on scholarship but is now at Friends University and I read somewhere he is leading the nation in that level at 30 points a game!! Glad to see he is excelling where he is now.
Anyone else remember the game when Reggie went down under the basket and Ramon Clemente landed with a foot right on Reggie's temple with all of his weight? I was scared for his future in more than just basketball. I may or may not have been worrying too much, but I remember praying like his life depended on it. Ramon was panicking, the game shut down for a while and EVERYONE was standing around him. He eventually got carted off and went to the hospital. I'm pretty sure he was released shortly.
He wound up finishing pretty nicely with UMKC. In an effort to tie this up, I would say that he was a solid player in a lot of ways but his big weakness was that he was not always quick enough. Hmmmm
I definitely remember that scary moment. I was there up in the rafters.
