Indeed it was, and very effective. CJ's size definitely bothered Glover.

    • For those of you attending the Tennessee game at IBA the WSU administration asks that you please be in your seats 20 minutes prior to game time. The aisles need to be clear as the Shocks will be running the arena steps as punishment for the anticipated lackadaisical 1st half that will be forthcoming.

      Thank you for your cooperation.

      • Dang we're good.

You're good when you can shoot 22.2% in the first half and still go as deep as your bench allows with 2 minutes left in the game.

I heard the thud from Ron Baker's head in Row 25. If his head was a watermelon, I'd say it wasn't quite ripe yet.

Wiggins is so athletic. I couldn't believe he had zero points when I looked up. That dude is just unlucky. Not Jake White unlucky, but just ... I dunno ... unlucky. He elevates and penetrates. But he gets fouled to death and ... nothing. It's like he's a hologram as far as the refs are concerned. Of course he did get to the line once and proceeded to miss both attempts. Come on, Wiggy, you are too good to be shootin' blanks!

Wessel, please don't disappear. Your team needs you. Your fans need you. Your conference needs you. Your country needs you (when we are playing in the title game this year).

Carter finally turning the JUCO newbie corner. Right on!

Cle looking a little more dominant tonight. He looked like he was playing ... well ... angry.

The first half debacle is a mystery. The Shox were getting excellent looks. But NOTHING was going in. Nothing. The Shox couldn't finish a Happy Meal that half, but it wasn't due to bad shot selection. It wasn't due to hurrying their shots. It wasn't due to not playing with their hair on fire. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't any of those things. We smoked ORU on every stat other than finishing, really.

It's the North goal....those rims are tighter than than a cow patty in the Texas sun. That plus the air current from the tunnel caused by improper installation of duct work when they remodeled Koch. That's why we always get the South goal in the second half. We know the secret. Seriously crunch the numbers on the FG% overall of the North vs. South. I bet you will find the answers right there.

On second thought, I just made all of that up.

Maybe it was the basket. ORU didn't have much luck at that end of the court either. MK was saying during the first half that ORU was getting all the rolls, but our shots were just falling off the rim.

Maybe it's just a tighter rim or sumptin'? Maybe all the dunking over the past two seasons have warped it into an egg shape? I dunno.

Or it could be that they just forgot to remove the shrink wrap from the North Goal rim before installing it.

                    • Gotta love the internet - spent the afternoon lying on the beach on Kauai, Hawaii, listening to the Shockers on my phone (82 degrees . . .) got a little warm for a bit, but just stepped into the ocean to cool off. Nice game by the way . . .Thought about you Pogo, but not for long . . .

We trailed Tulsa most of the first half. We were down like by like 13 away from home against BYU and down by nearly 10 for decently long stretches in the first and second halves at SLU. Chalk it up as another double-digit victory against a decent team. There are very few, if any, college basketball teams out there that play 40 minutes of solid basketball.

                          • My favorite stat, brought to my attention by old friend MikeShox was the 13-1 assist/turnover numbers by Van Vleet, Baker and Cotton. They now have a total of 100 assists versus 34 turnover, a 2.94:1 Assist/turnover ratio.

                            • First half sucked. Second half was Top 10ish. When we turn it on, we can beat anybody, and I mean ANYBODY. Glover is definitely an impressive athlete and scorer. Very difficult matchup. And he isn't even ORU's best player? That team would be a solid NCAA quality team at full strength. Still nice to end that ugly losing streak to them. I didn't appreciate one of their fans clapping and yelling "box out blue!" everytime we shot a first half free throw. That's not something Jesus would do, would it? Lufile has grown up tremendously. He's now fun to watch. Carter was actually making shots. Also nice to see. FVV is an assist machine. Our offense flowed so much better in the second half when he was doing that passing. Very fun to watch. It's nice to know we can still get double-digit victories when Baker has a subpar shooting night. He isn't perfect. And let's face it. That game was destined for a 20 point blowout until he called off the dogs with 4 minutes left. I almost thought he did that too soon. It got down to a 10 point game with a minute left.

                              9-0. Tennessee deserves major payback.

Loved the play of Carter. Looks like he might be turning the corner.

2013-2014 Early looking more like 2012-2013 Early.

Ron Baker is like a freaking bobble head doll, but in a good way. Dude gets clocked every freaking game, and just pops right back up.
