My issue with Cle isnt the inconsistency as frustrating that is. Towards the end of the BYU game he got bumped and (IMO) it looked to be very minimal contact. He stopped and pulled his hands up and no foul was called and it allowed BYU to steal and go down the court.

Just about the exact same situation happened at the beginning of the SLU game.

If your not gonna go hard all the time then why bother? I dont care what his stat line reads because the majority of those were earned down the stretch which dont get me wrong is a big reason why we won, but give that effort during minute 12 as well as minute 32.

Come on, Royal. Most of us are just funnin' around. Some posters just don't know the difference between being a poster and a moderator.

Not knowing if your male or female, @SHOXMVC could have been paying you a high compliment or in fun at the least. I'm pretty sure "idiot" does neither.

A year ago Cle was someone no one outside of Wichita had heard of. This year he's high in the national radar, got all kinds of pre-season accolades, went to elite summer camps. His entire world changed last march and April.

The pressure he's putting on himself is likely way more than the combined pressure every poster on SN would like to put on him. Give the kid a little chance to adjust to his new role. He went from a 0 to a 10 (in the national scene) so fast, he never learned how to be 4, 6, or 8.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I think Cle is actually not playing that poorly. His story doesn't need fabrication. We shouldn't forget he was actually recruited highly out of high school and was breaking juco records.

Can Cle play better? Yes. Am I worried that our starting 4 is averaging appx 14 pts 7 rebounds in addition to being a more willing passer? No.

From an armchair perspective I think he needs to be more selective from deep, attack the basket more and get stronger with the ball. Or just do what the coaches say.

I mean the guy scores 12 points without lifting a finger. He's an improved defender and rebounder. I'm glad he plays for the shockers.

Also, that starting stretch 4 is 10th in MVC scoring and 5th in rebounding. Not AA numbers, but lets not gloss over what we have here.

I have to agree with a few other posters and non-posters I've talked to... WSU is undefeated, and has yet to play their best basketball (IMO). When they finally do put a full 40 together, look out

It is nice to know the opponents have to pick there poison. who are they going to try to take away from the shoxs. we have many many weapons the work in wonderful ways.
As Cle gets more and more of the opponents best to shut him down it sure does open things up for others. SLU went out to stop cle and FVV> yes they both had things they could have done better but they never quit and always tried to help the team win by doing the little things. If you notice when the defense went after baker to shut him down (not easy to do) then Cle and Fred went to work and finished strong. the whole time doing the little things that really helped get us to that point. Its called team work for a reason and the shoxs have that part figured out most of the time. It is always so hard to pick a player of the game because of what happens on the court. Its not just the points, but the defense, the screens, the hustle, the plays they make look easy by just being in the right place according to the game plan that most of us would never notice. we all love to see the high point totals and Cottons great defense and over look all the little things that the whole team does. I would take a team of all bakers, or all cottons, or all cle, or even FFV. but it takes them all to get the job done to get to the level where we know they can go. with out the big men cutting of the lane on the drives, or the guards digging in on the post or the open look because Cle or baker is getting double teamed. yes they can always get better and hopefully will but don't allow the stat sheets to drive you on if the had a good game or deserve to be POY. Look at it from a coaches side and see just how great the are and can be.
