It tightens up for about a week with the Alabama road game and the NCCU home game, and then there is another nice gap over Christmas before Davidson and MVC play.

I could see 5-0 to close out non-con at this point. BYU and St. Louis are better than Tennessee and Alabama. ORU should be a win, NCCU should be a win, and Davidson should be a win. I guess I could also see 4-1 or 3-2 if we struggle with Tenn and Bama, but even then, we still have a pretty solid non-con.

With all this practice time coming up, though, I think coach gets his stuff in and the players start playing better than we have even seen yet.
I previously posted (somewhere) that I was not impressed with Tennessee or Alabama, then Tennessee promptly went out and notched two victories over Xavier and Wake Forest by 15 and 19 points, respectively. I still feel that we can beat Tennessee at Intrust, but Jamel Stokes seems to be back in beast mode with two more double doubles of 20+ points and 10+rebounds. So, our bigs will have their work cut out for them. I expect Darius and CJ to see the bulk of minutes based on their ability to score, but all three will need be ready to battle down low.

Well actually 7-0 for November. We're 1-0 so far for December.

Give Cle a break. He's doing just fine. 10-12 points and 6-8 rebounds is good. Remember w/o Cle we don't win at St. Louie. His final 3 baskets were daggers into their backs. Cle has never been a model of consistency because that isn't his game. He hits several shots in a row and then misses some. He has always looked for his shot because he believes in himself and he is an offensive player bit to his credit he's added some great assists to his game this year. Maybe he will gain some consistency but whether he does or not, he is a very good player and without him we don't beat a Top 30 or 40 St. Louis team on the road.

First off, nobody is picking on Cle Mrs. Early. Last I looked this is a fan board, which your post does qualify for. Opinions flow rather freely. You might be one of a very few number of people that believes Early is doing fine. If that is the case the expectations of this team is in trouble. Cle is a pre-season AA candidate and on the Wooden/ Neismith watch list. He is on those lists for several reasons. The two that sees him score 10-12 points and 6-8 rebounds per game isn't among them.

I fall in the great majority of people that recognizes he is under performing, but have 100% confidence he will meet and maybe exceed expectations. I love his game. The problem is he isn't playing his game...yet. Stay tuned.

Hey idiot. My opinion is as good as yours. I just don't feel that harping on him matters because he will improve fine by the Valley season. But you are probably are always great at what you do. :)

Xavier isn't that great this year and Tennessee has also lost to them. Some Vol fans are calling for Cuonzo's head and Pearl to come back. Every game the rest of the season is one we should definitely win.

Because Marshall basically said it in Lutz's article this morning. "Maybe he's thinking about the wrong things. Maybe the next level."

I have said it a couple times recently, Cle is letting the opposition off the hook by taking ill advised 3-point shots. Most effective 3-point shooters are rhythm shooters (catch and shoot). Cle is guilty of catching, pausing and then shooting or dribbling then shooting. Plus, he is too talented off the dribble to get to the rim. He is such a good foul shooter, that he could get 8-10 attempts every game.

The good news is Cle is such a good kid, and a smart one at that. It won't be long before we see the real Cle. His coaches will make him more aware of what he needs to do to get is greatness back on track.

Shooting 3s also reduces the number of FTA, further reducing his scoring (plus getting fouls on opponents). I'm not saying he shouldn't shoot 3s, just be more selective and in the flow. His two 3s late in yesterday's game was in the flow, not thinking about it. The higher his 3 % is, the more the inside game will open up.

I'm wondering if it's not necessarily the press clippings, but the added pressure he putting on himself due to the success and attention Baker is getting. Whether he is conscious of it or not, feeling that as Baker's stock rises, his goes down. He needs to embrace Ron's success, take advantage of the additional attention Baker will be getting on the floor to his advantage, and remember that the more success his teammates have, the less pressure and load he has on his back. Again, I believe that is the mentality he had late in the St Louis game.
Yes and yes! I think Cle will be just fine, but you both nailed it on the head. Evidence for his flustered performance was most clear early in the SLU game. He got the ball on the wing and gave a quick pump fake, which his defender bit on HARD, and went flying off the court. This left absolutely no one between Cle and the basket, but he just froze. He looked so surprised, took a half step in, looked around, still a wide open lane to the hoop, but settled for an awkward 17 footer that bricked off the rim. The cool confident Cle from late last season drives straight to the bucket for a monster dunk!! I am confident he will turn the corner soon and have a great season, but at the moment it is quite frustrating seeing all that talent being squandered with forced shots and bad passes.

I believe that one who "name calls" is no better than the names they call others. Perhaps, neither is their opinion.

What a peacemaker you are. Re-read what was written. I didn't call anyone out with my original past. I don't think anyone should be called out with ms Early comments. A simple I disagree would be fine.

Hey dickwagon, try your reading and comprehension skills. I gave you credit for your opinion. Yes, I had a little fun with the Mrs. Early comment. Get back on your meds please.

Also: Do you value Marshall's harping...it was his public harping in the Eagle today that motivated me to even make a post on this matter.
